Bookish Item| May TBR

We’re getting closer to the start of May, so I’ve been thinking about some of the books I want to read next month. I’ve been following my mood recently, so that’s probably how I’ll continue, but there are definitely a few books I’m adding to my May TBR. Let’s take a look!

Group Reads

The Prison Healer – Lynette Noni

In April my series slayers group finished our read of An Ember in the Ashes. So we’re starting a new YA series, The Prison Healer. All I know is that our main character has been working as a prison healer for the last ten years at a notorious death prison. I’m intrigued!

Bonded by Thorns – Elizabeth Helen

My next swoon read is going to be Bonded by Thorns. This is the first book in a why choose fantasy romance. That also just happens to be a Beauty and the Beast retelling. There are currently four books out in this series. I’m not sure if the fourth book is the final one or not.

The Sirens – Emilia Hart

I’ve heard great things about this author since Weyward was published. I still need to read that, but The Sirens also sounds amazing. This book is told in two timelines and that’s all I really want to know. I have a feeling I want to go into this one blind.

My Friends – Fredrik Backman

So far I’ve only read Beartown by Fredrik Backman, but after just reading that I could tell I want to read everything else by this author. My Friends is his newest release and all I know is that it’s about four friends that have such a powerful bond that it changes a stranger’s life twenty-five years later. If this is anything like Beartown, I know it’s going to be emotional.

A Fate Forged in Fire – Hazel McBride

I’m always looking for a new amazing fantasy romance and A Fate Forged in Fire sounds right up my alley. A powerfully blessed blacksmith wants to overthrow the corrupt powers ruling her kingdom and become queen. I’m intrigued!

It’s a Love Story -Annabel Monaghan

I loved Summer Romance by this author, so I hit request as soon as I saw It’s a Love Story on Netgalley. All I know is that our main character doesn’t believe in love. That may just change in this story.

Backlist/Physical Books

You, Again – Kate Goldbeck

You, Again definitely caught my eye because of the cover alone. A commitment phobe and a hopeless romantic, now that’s an interesting combination. I believe this book spans over a few years and they keep ending up crossing each other’s paths. I have a feeling I’ll love this one.

House of Marionne – J. Elle

All I know about House of Marionne is our main character is trying to hide her deadly magic. She also seems to have an assassin hunting her. That’s all I need to know! I saw that the third book in this series releases later this year. So it’d be the perfect time to catch up!

Binding 13 – Chloe Walsh

Will May finally be the month that I read Binding 13? I know this book is going to break my heart, but after reading All the Broken Pieces this month, I guess I’m ready for it? The next book in The Boys of Tommen series releases this month I think? So I need to get ready! So many books to catch up on, haha.

So here are some of the books I’m hoping to read in May! Have you read any of these? Or what are some books you want to read next month? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
