Review| Bridesmaid for Hire – Meghan Quinn

It took me a lot longer than expected to finally sit down and read Bridesmaid for Hire, but I finally did. I’m mad at myself for waiting so long to read this one. Meghan Quinn is one of my favorite authors and proved to me again why that’s the case with this book. Today I want to tell you about this book and what I thought. Keep on reading for more.

A big thank you to Netgalley and Bloom Books for providing me with an eARC to read and review. This doesn’t affect my opinion in any way.

Sometimes the wedding of the century calls for desperate measures.
And sometimes those desperate measures are to pretend the person you hate most is actually your boyfriend.

After years of working her tail off at her event-planning business, Maggie Mitchell is ready for a vacation. With nothing on her mind but R & R, she’s enjoying the warm weather of Bora Bora when in saunters Brody McFadden, her brother’s best friend and also her sworn enemy. Thanks to years of tension between the two—kicked off by a make-out session at her brother’s wedding that ended horribly—Maggie has sworn to stay away from the man. That is, until she finds out he’s in Bora Bora for his boss’s daughter’s wedding, hoping to use the trip to win a real future at the company.

Maggie promised herself she wouldn’t even think of work on the island, but as word spreads about the “wedding of the century” taking place in the midst of her vacation, she realizes offering her services as a bridesmaid and planner could bring her business to the next level. The only catch? She needs to pose as Brody’s girlfriend to get the job…while letting him stay in her peaceful bungalow.

Tensions rise, irritation flairs, and despite years’ worth of bickering behind closed doors, Maggie can’t quite squash the sparks building between her and her new fake boyfriend, especially when she learns the real reason their first kiss was cut short. But as the wedding day draws closer and everything starts to go wrong, it just might be Brody who sends Maggie’s business crashing down—and her heart along with it.

Review

Meghan Quinn is one of my favorite authors and Bridesmaid for Hire made me realize why all over again. Bridesmaid for Hire is laugh out loud funny, heartwarming, emotional, and spicy. Brody and Maggie had their little moment years ago, but that didn’t end well. Which makes them fake dating so much fun!

Maggie is supposed to be on vacation, but running your own business is hard. So when she gets a chance to get to know a big company that could make her business a household name, she takes her chance. Brody is there to make an appearance and try to save his job. Fake dating seems to be the best solutions for both of them.

Preparing for the wedding makes things get messy. There are activities that don’t end well for either character, but are so much fun you have to laugh out loud. The tension between Brody and Maggie jumps off the page and you just want to see them together. I loved watching these two slowly get to know each other and let their walls down. A few moments had me hoping that these two would just talk, but other than that, Bridesmaid for Hire was perfect for me.

If you’re looking for a book with amazing characters, laugh out loud moments, moments that will make you blush, and others that maybe even make you tear up a little, Bridesmaid for Hire is for you. I’m so excited to read the next book in the series.

I’ll be thinking about Bridesmaid for Hire for a long time after this! I also know for sure that I’ll be reading Bridesmaid Undercover very soon. Have you read anything by Meghan Quinn? If you have, what’s your favorite one so far? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
