Looking Back at Our Bookhauls | March 2024

It’s time for the scariest post of the month on our blog, haha. Looking Back at Our Bookhauls helps us keep an eye on the books we’re adding to our shelves. Do we actually read them? Today we’re looking back at our March 2024 bookhaul! Let’s see we how we did!

Candyce

March tends to have bigger hauls, because it’s my birthday month! So I know this is going to be a big one. In March 2024, I added 21 books to my shelves. Let’s see how many I’ve read!

Swift and Saddled – Lyla Sage
Read

I’ve really become a cowboy romance fan, so of course I’ve already read Swift and Saddled. I even read the third book that released Lost and Lassoed. Lyla Sage writes amazing romances that really keep you reading. I’m anxiously awaiting the fourth and final book that releases next week!

Addicted for Now & Kiss the Sky – Krista & Becca Ritchie
Unread

The Addicted series was one that surprised me last year in a positive way. So much so, I even bought the third and fourth book while I was reading the second. I’m actually really surprised I haven’t read these yet. I’ll definitely be changing that soon.

Where Sleeping Girls Lie – Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
Unread

Where Sleeping Girls Lie has all of the tropes and even the setting I love, but I haven’t gotten to this one yet. I did start this book and read the first fity pages. Once again, I got distracted by other books, haha.

My Favorite Kidnapper – Melanie Moreland
Read

The cover for this book is what caught my eye and I’m glad I read it. Our main character is basically kidnapped and forced to bake sixty cakes for this man. Of course, they slowly start falling in love and he becomes very protective of her. I had a really good time with this story.

Next if Kin – Hannah Bonam-Young
Read

After Out on a Limb, I’ve read everything Hannah Bonam-Young has written. Next of Kin is such an emotional story. Our two main characters are both trying to become the legal guardians of their siblings and are put together to help each other out. So many emotional, but also heartwarming moments. This author is officially a favorite of mine!

By the Book – Jasmine Guillory
Read

I actually only recently read By the Book but I loved this Beauty and the Beast retelling. It was bookish, emotional, and romantic. I loved the bookish elements and I love the different Disney retellings in this series.

Kiss the Girl – Zoraida Cordova
Unread

Kiss the Girl is the only book in the Meant to Be series that I haven’t read yet and it’s a retelling of my favorite Disney movie. I love The Little Mermaid. After reading By the Book, I’m excited to pick this one up.

Savage Lover & Bloody Heart – Sophie Lark
Read/Unread

This mafia series is one that has me hooked. I’ve read Savage Lover, but still need to get Bloody Heart. I will say once you pick up one of these books, you just can’t put it down.

If Only I Had Told Her – Laura Nowlin
Read

If He Had Been with Me was an emotional read and I wasn’t expecting If Only I Had Told Her to hit me harder than I was expecting. I mean, I knew the story already. The POVs in here really hit in all of the feels.

The Way I Am Now – Amber Smith
Unread

The Way I Used to Be was a heartbreaking story, but after how it ended I’m curious to see how our main character’s life continues in college. Like I said in the bookhaul, I hope she gets the happy ending she deserves.

This Could Be Us – Kennedy Ryan
Unread

I’m really surprised This Could Be Us is still an unread book on my shelves. Before I Let Go was such an emotional, intense, and loving story. I have a feeling this is going to be the same. I do hope to read this before the third book in the series releases.

Happily Never After – Lynn Painter
Read

Lynn Painter is one of my favorite authors, so I was really excited about Happily Never After. Our two main characters become professional weddings disruptors and don’t believe in love. I enjoyed this one, but it wasn’t my favorite book she’s written.

A Tempest of Tea – Hafsah Faizal
Read

Heists and vampires? Yes, please! A Tempest of Tea was an interesting heist story, but I will say I wish the vampires played a bigger role in this story. Hopefully that changes in the sequel coming out this year.

Fathomfolk – Eliza Chan
Unread

The special editions on my shelves are all ones that I think sound interesting. Maybe I need to make a month where I sit down and read as many as possible, because I tend to be bad at reading them, haha. Fathomfolk being one of them.

A Sign of Affection Vol.5 – Vol. 7 – Suu Morishita
Read

A Sign of Affection has become my favorite manga series and I’ve now read up to volume 10. I’m sad that there’s no date known for the next volume. I should reread these soon.

Perfect World Vol. 1 & Vol. 2 – Rie Aruga
Read

Like I said in the bookhaul, I had seen this manga advertised in other manga, so I wanted to give it a try. There were many elements I loved, but I think I saw a love triangle coming and I’m not a big fan of those. So I do want to read the third volume to see if I’ll continue with the series.

End Result
Read: 13/21 – 61.9%
TBR: 8/21 – 38.1%

Isabelle

I didn’t get any books for my birthday last year, but I did get some money I spend on books and I spend some of my Audible credits. So I actually got 8 books in total during March 2024. Now the question becomes, did I read them? Let’s take a look.

Haikyu 17 – 20 & 22 – 25 – Haruichi Furudate
Read

I can’t believe a year ago I was only halfway through the Haikyu series. This has become one of my absolute favorite series ever, I love both the manga and the anime. I would love to reread this series, preferably this year haha. Hopefully it will be another amazing experience the second time around.

Audible

Raised by Wolves 1-3 – Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Read

This was a reread for me, I read this series years ago. I love Jennifer Lynn Barnes, and this series is what put her on the map for me. By now I have read almost all of her books. This reread was still really enjoyable, and I still think this is one of the better YA werewolf books out there!

End Result
Read: 8/8 – 100%
TBR: 0/8 – 0%

So that’s another looking back at our bookhauls! Have you read any of these books? Or do you keep an eye on your TBR to see if you’re reading the books you haul? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you.
