Another month is over, so it’s time to look back at last month. March is our birthday month, so did that also mean new books? Keep on reading our bookhaul to find out!
Candyce
March ended up being a busy bookish month. I ended up adding quite a few books to my collection. In total I added 21 books to my shelves. A few were gifts and I bought a few from a gift certificate. Let’s take a look at what I got!
Swift and Saddled – Lyla Sage
After loving Done and Dusted, I knew I needed the next book in this series when it released. I love the style of these covers and I’ve come to realize that I do enjoy cowboy romances.
Addicted for Now & Kiss the Sky – Krista & Becca Ritchie
The Addicted series is a very popular one and I really loved the first two books. There are ten books in total, so I’m slowly collecting the series. Addicted for Now & Kiss the Sky are books three and four.
Where Sleeping Girls Lie – Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
In 2021 I loved this author’s book, Ace of Spades. So when Where Sleeping Girls Lie was announced I was very excited. The boyfriend and I went shopping during our vacation and I saw this at the bookstore. Where Sleeping Girls Lie is another contemporary mystery and this time we’re at a boarding school.
My Favorite Kidnapper – Melanie Moreland
I love this cover of My Favorite Kidnapper. Our main character has the dreams of opening her own bakery and a man becomes obsessed with her baking. He “kidnaps” her to his house in Italy, so that she’ll bake 60 cakes for him. This isn’t a type of romance I’ve read before, but I have already read this one. I’ll talk about my thoughts tomorrow in the wrap up.
Next of Kin – Hannah Bonam-Young
I’ve been discovering new authors and they all make me want to read their whole backlist. This was also the case after I read Out On a Limb last year. Next of Kin is also a book by this author and it’s now traditionally published.
By the Book – Jasmine Guillory
Last year I read If the Shoe Fits. That was the first book in the Meant to Be series and they’re all fairy tale retellings. Every book is written by a different author and By the Book is a Beauty and the Beast retelling and we have an author and someone who works in publishing as main characters.
Kiss the Girl – Zoraida Cordova
Kiss the Girl is the third book in the Meant to Be series and a Little Mermaid retelling. The Little Mermaid has always been my favorite Disney movie and I don’t think I’ve ever read a retelling of it. So I’m very excited!
Savage Lover & Bloody Heart – Sophie Lark
I’m really bad at continuing with series, but I really loved the first two book in the Brutal Birthright series. Bloom Books has now published them all and I love how floppy these editions are. So I decided to get the next two books I need to read to continue with this one.
If Only I Had Told Her – Laura Nowlin
If He Had Been with Me was a book I remember seeing everywhere and I needed to read it. That was a very emotional book and I’m interested in Finn’s POV (which we get in this one I believe). Also, I love these covers!
The Way I Am Now – Amber Smith
The Way I Used to Be was such an emotional story and our main character Eden went through so much. The Way I Am Now is the next part of her story and I’m really hoping she gets the future she deserves after everything she went through.
This Could Be Us – Kennedy Ryan
Kennedy Ryan knows how to write emotional books and had me in tears when I read Before I Let Go. We met Soledad is that book and I’ve been wanting her story since then. I have a feeling we’re in for another emotional roller coaster.
Happily Never After – Lynn Painter
Lynn Painter has come to be one of my favorite authors and I’ve read all of her books. Happily Never After is her next adult romance that I’ve been anxiously awaiting. So far the reviews seem pretty good and I didn’t expect anything different from this author.
A Tempest of Tea – Hafsah Faizal
March’s YA Fairyloot book was A Tempest of Tea. I’m glad this wasn’t one I had already ordered, because I was thinking about it. We get a heist and vampires. That’s all I needed to know.
Fathomfolk – Eliza Chan
It’s been awhile, but I got this month’s Illumicrate book. March’s book was Fathomfolk and I have to say that this edition is very pretty. Our main character is a half-siren and that’s not something I’ve seen a lot in books. So I’m looking forward to reading this one. The lighting was terrible when I took this picture and I couldn’t get the title visible.
A Sign of Affection Vol.5 – Vol. 7 – Suu Morishita
I’ve talked about A Sign of Affection a few times on the blog and I was really happy the boyfriend gave me the last few volumes that are available for my birthday. Both the manga and anime have been so good. I’m sad I now have to wait for the next volume to be published.
Perfect World Vol. 1 & Vol. 2 – Rie Aruga
Perfect World is a manga I saw advertised at the end of a Sign of Affection volume. It seemed like one I would love, so my boyfriend also gave me the first two volumes for my birthday. I’ve already read these and will tell you about my thoughts tomorrow in our March wrap up.
Isabelle
I didn’t get any books for my birthday but I did get some money that I used to get some books haha. So once again I do have something to share, I got 8 new books!
Haikyu 17 – 20 & 22 – 25 – Haruichi Furudate
So all 8 of my new books are Haikyu volumes…. haha. I also ordered volume 21 but that one won’t arrive until wednesday. This is my favorite manga at the moment and I’m so hooked. I read quite a couple of volumes recentely and I just want to keep on going. So I decided to use my birthday money and I might get some more soon. There are 45 volumes so I only have to get 20 more ;).
Audible
Raised by Wolves 1-3 – Jennifer Lynn Barnes
I had a couple of Audible credits left and decided to get all three books in the Raised by Wolves series. This was a series I wanted to reread badly and I was happy to be able to listen to all three books in a row.
So that’s our March bookhaul! Have you read any of these books? Or did you add any new books to your collection? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you.
