I’m a little late to the party, but I’ve finally started watching Schitt’s Creek. Now that I only have a season and a half to go, I thought it would be fun to share my thoughts on the show. I also really want to talk to someone about it haha. So let’s jump in!

After being a victim of fraud, Johnny Rose and his family go from extremely wealthy to penniless overnight. The only asset left to them is a small, unsophisticated town: Schitt’s Creek. They relocate there. Culture shock ensues.

Schitt’s Creek is a comedy show with 6 seasons. The first 4 seasons have 13 episodes each, and the final 2 seasons have 14 episodes. Each episode is about 22 minutes.

I have to admit, I didn’t really expect to enjoy this show. While I heard a lot of people talk about it, it didn’t really seem like my type of show. But I decided to give it a go anyways. I watched the first season and did enjoy it, but I didn’t love it. After watching most of the first season, I took a break from it. But recently, I started watching it again and now I’m halfway through season 5. I think I will finish the show before the end of the coming week!

These characters have managed to wiggle their way into my heart! I immediately enjoyed Johnny Rose and his son Daniel. But both Alexis and Moira took longer for me to warm up to. Alexis has gone through some amazing character growth, possibly the best I’ve ever seen on TV and now I want everything for her. I’m rooting for her current relationship to be the one, even though I thought I saw a spoiler and she might not end up with whom I want her to end up with. A girl can hope though!

Moira is such an interesting character. She hasn’t really changed, but I have come to appreciate her for sure. I also love her relationship with Johnny. He is wonderful and I really like whatever he does. Daniel is hilarious and I love love love his relationship with Stevie. They have such a nice friendship! I love how honest they are and usually I laugh out loud because of them. However, they have also brought me to tears! A good friendship will do that to me haha. Also, I love Patrick! Someone else who has me smiling like an idiot.

The townies are mostly really fun. But I have to say, Roland does get on my nerves most of the time. I much rather get a storyline with any of the other townies (expect maybe Bob). It’s amazing to see how the Roses have grown and find their place in the town. I’m not sure how the show will end and I’m not sure what I want for the final episode either. The only thing I do now is that I need the Roses to stay in Schitt’s Creek!

It has been so much fun seeing scenes where I know the audio from through TikTok. I for sure have rewinded those scenes and watched them again and again because of those audios. Have you watched this show? Did you enjoy it as much as I do? I would love to hear your thoughts down below!
