We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is a love freebie but I wasn’t feeling inspired. So I decided to go with last weeks topic, as I do love that one! Candyce shared her ‘2024 Releases I Was Excited to Read but Still Haven’t Gotten To’ books last week, and today it’s my turn. Let’s jump in!
1. The Breakup Tour – Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka
I only remembered this one when I was looking at Goodreads’ top 100 romances and this wasn’t on there. The rest of the year I hardly thought of it, oops. I do still really want to read this one though!
2. Where Sleeping Girls Lie – Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
I can’t believe I haven’t read this one yet. When I read Ace of Spades I couldn’t wait for the next book Faridah wrote and now I still have to read this one. While I’m reading less and less YA, I would like to still read this one.
3. The Perfect Guy Doesn’t Exist – Sophie Gonzales
Another one I can’t believe I still haven’t read yet. I loved all the Sophie Gonzales books I read so far and I have high hopes for this one. Even worse, I have an eARC of this one and was planning on reading it before the release date.
4. The Dead Cat Tail Assassins – P. Djèlí Clark
This one is a more recent release and I’m less mad about not having read it yet. But I do want to read it soon! I loved the P. Djèlí Clark books I’ve read so far and I think I will love this one as well.
5. The Reappearance of Rachel Price – Holly Jackson
I really liked the A Good Girl’s Guide series by Holly Jackson and enjoyed Five Survive as well. So I do still plan on reading this one, although it doesn’t have the highest priority out of all the books on this list.
6. The Familiar – Leigh Bardugo
I was so looking forward to this release! After loving previous work by Leigh Bardugo and being really intrigued by the synopsis of this one I thought I would pick this one up soon. Unfortunately that was not the case. I have finally picked up Ninth House so maybe this one will be next?
7. The Pairing – Casey McQuiston
I love love love Red, White & Royal Blue and have heard amazing things about this one. The story sounds wonderful and the reviews are super positive. So while I couldn’t get into One Last Stop, I really want to read this one.
8. Love Letters to a Serial Killer – Tasha Coryell
This is another one I forgot for a bit. I think it sounds like a wonderful book, and it will be right up my alley. But I haven’t really heard anyone talk about it. Hopefully it will live up to my expectations once I finally read it.
9. Apprentice to the Villain – Hannah Nicole Maehrer
After loving Assistant to the Villain this summer, I thought I would read this one as soon as it was released. And I did start it for a bit but I put it down in favour of something else. I still don’t fully know how that works haha. This is one I plan on reading really soon!
10. The Songbird & the Heart of Stone – Carissa Broadbent
This is another pretty recent release so I’m okay with not having read it yet. I do plan on reading it soonish. It’s already on my Kindle since I saw it on Kindle Unlimited haha.
These are 10 of the 2024 books I was highly anticipating but still haven’t read. As you can see, I still want to read most of these but I’m not sure when I’ll get to them haha. Which one would you recommend I pick up first? Let me know down below!
Apprentice to the Villain has a cool cover.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I’ve been the worst about not picking up new releases lately so I should probably examine my shelves lol.
