It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!
So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What did you recently finish reading?
After Life – Gayle Forman
When I read the synopsis of this book, I was quite intrigued. Our main character, Amber, comes home after school and her mother screams when she sees her. Apparently she died seven years ago. The concept is very interesting and I enjoyed how the author explores death and grief. We get multiple POVs in different timelines. A lot kept my attention, but the plot also didn’t work for me at times. It’s hard to put my finger on what it is.
All the Missing Pieces – Catherine Cowles
Catherine Cowles is an author I discovered when I read Fragile Sanctuary last year. I still need to catch up with her backlist, but I couldn’t resist reading her newest release. Our main character’s twin sister was abducted right before their college graduation. To deal with this, Ridley has a podcast trying to help people solve their family’s cold case. This is the perfect balance of investigation, Ridley’s own past, and romance. Catherine Cowles really knows what she’s doing when it comes to romantic suspense.
What are you currently reading?
As Good As Dead – Holly Jackson
After loving the first two books of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, I’m surprised it’s taken me this long to start the final book in the trilogy. Pip is about to head to college, but the aftermath of everything is starting to get to her. I’m about 100 pages in and it’s clear she’s still dealing with all of the trauma she’s experienced. On top of that, she now thinks she has a stalker. I have no clue how this will all play out, but I’m intrigued.
A Serial Killer’s Guide to Marriage – Asia Mackay
I’m about 40% into my eARC of A Serial Killer’s Guide to Marriage, and I’m honestly not sure what I think of it yet. The concept is really interesting. There’s a couple who were both serial killers. They’d take down the “bad guys”. When they had their daughter, they decided to get out of that world. Both of them are dealing with not following those urges anymore. To be honest, not much has happened so far. It’s feeling a little repetitive. Hopefully this changes.
What do you think you’ll read next?
The Teller of Small Fortunes – Julie Leong
I’ll be reading this cozy fantasy this week. A wandering fortune teller and found family sound like two things that’ll be perfect in a book. Other than that I’m going into this one not knowing much.
Cursed Fates – Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti
Zodiac Academy is a very hyped series and I devoured the first four books in this series. The books only seem to get bigger, but they’re addicting. I started Cursed Fates a long time ago and I got about 400 pages in. I don’t remember what stopped me from finishing though. It has been catching my eye again, but I’ll have to start from the beginning. It’s been too long to remember everything that’s happened.
So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! What have you been reading lately? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
An interesting mix of books. I hope that A Serial Killers Guide to Marriage picks up.
Have a great weekend!
