We wanted to do another bookish meme on Wednesday and after doing Can’t Wait Wednesday a few times we decided that would be a fun one to bring around more often! About twice a month you’ll see this meme on our blog.

Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

It is June 21, the longest day of the year, and the life of new mother Camilla is about to change forever. After months of maternity leave, she will drop off her infant daughter at daycare for the first time and return to her job as a literary agent. Finally. But when she wakes, her husband Luke isn’t there, and in his place is a cryptic note.

Then it starts. Breaking news: A hostage situation is developing in London. The police tell her Luke is involved—but he isn’t a hostage. Her husband—doting father, eternal optimist—is the gunman.

I came across this one on a Goodreads list and I just had to add it. Especially after reading that final line of the synopsis! I get so excited thinking about what it could all mean, is her husband truly the gunman, why is he doing this? Is he being forced or does he have some dark secrets? Does the wife have anything to do with it? As you can see, I can’t wait to dive in!

This mystery/thriller gets released February 25th and I might want to read something else by Gillian McAllister before then. She has written a lot of books already, but her most popular one is Wrong Place Wrong Time. That is one I want to read for sure!
