We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Most Anticipated Books Releasing in the First Half of 2025. Isabelle and I always enjoy doing this topic. 2025 is packed with releases I’m excited about, so let’s take a look at the first half of 2025!
Onyx Storm – Rebecca Yarros (January 21st)
I can’t not mention Onyx Storm to start off this post! I know this is one that’s going to be on so many lists. After the ending of Iron Flame, I’ve been counting down the days until the release of this one. Thankfully we only have two weeks to go!
Out of the Woods – Hannah Bonam-Young (January 28th)
After reading Out On a Limb and loving it, I’ve read everything written by Hannah. So I was so excited to hear that Out of the Woods would be releasing this month. Sarah and Caleb are two characters we meet in a previous book and I love that we get a book about a married couple trying to save their marriage. That’s not something I’ve seen often.
Rebel Witch – Kristen Ciccarelli (February 18th)
I loved The Crimson Moth last year and it reminded me why I like waiting to read completed series. The ending had me wanting more! I need to see how Rune and Gideon’s story plays out.
The Rose Bargain – Sasha Peyton Smith (February 4th)
The Rose Bargain is an alternate history romance that has fae and a competition. That’s all I really need to know to want to read this book. The fact that it has a stunning cover just makes it extra special.
Our Infinite Fates – Laura Steven (March 4th)
All I needed to know about Our Infinite Fates was this sentence from the synopsis: “They’ve loved each other in a thousand lifetimes. They’ve killed each other in every one.”
This time around our main character wants to stick around in the life she has been building. That doesn’t seem like it’s going to be an easy task. I’ve seen so many early readers love this book, so I’ll definitely pick this one up.
Promise Me Sunshine – Cara Bastone (March 4th)
Cara Bastone surprised me in 2024 with Ready or Not, so I know I need to read Promise Me Sunshine. This book is a slow burn romance that seems to deal with grief. All I know is that I have a feeling this one is going to make me cry.
My Friends – Fredrik Backman (May 20th)
I’ve only read Beartown by this author and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. My Friends sounds like it’s going to be amazing as well. The friendship four teenagers have creates a bond so powerful that it changes a stranger’s life twenty-five years later. That’s all I know from the synopsis, but I have a feeling I want to go in not knowing much more than that.
It’s a Love Story – Annabel Monaghan (May 27th)
Summer Romance was my first book by this author and it left me wanting to read more. It’s a Love Story is going to be another interesting one because our main character doesn’t believe in true love. I have a feeling having to get in touch with a guy she hasn’t spoken to in twenty years is going to change that.
Of Monsters and Mainframes – Barbara Truelove (June 3rd)
I don’t know a lot about Of Monsters and Mainframes, but I do know it’s science fiction and has Dracula? I have a feeling this is going to be so much fun.
The Beautiful Maddening – Shea Ernshaw (June 3rd)
I’ve enjoyed books by Shea Ernshaw before and The Beautiful Maddening is one that caught my eye. Our main character’s family has a curse where people will fall in love with any member of the family when tulips bloom. She wants to be rid of this and is very happy to find someone that seems to be immune to the curse. I have a feeling things aren’t going to be that simple though.
So those are ten of the many books I’m excited about releasing the first half of 2025. Are you excited about any of these? Or what books are you excited about that everyone should know about? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
Out Of The Woods looks adorable! I hope you’ll love all these books when you get to read them 🙂
