It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!
So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What did you recently finish reading?
I Was a Teenage Slasher – Stephen Graham Jones
Horror isn’t my genre, but I do like stepping out of my comfort zone here and there. I Was a Teenage Slasher was a weekly read in my Discord book club and it was pretty good. The way this book was told and how it all wrapped up had me hooked. I will say that the chapters were really long. It’s almost 400 pages and only has 7 chapters.
A Festive Feud – Maren Moore
Anything Christmas makes me happy and A Festive Feud caught my eye. Novellas/short stories don’t always work for me, but I still like giving them a try. Emma and Jackson were fun characters, but the whole enemies thing was over by chapter 3, haha. Also, the whole reason their family feud started was a bit overwhelming. I do feel like that I would’ve loved this one more if it was a full length story.
What are you currently reading?
Powerless – Elsie Silver
I’ve been slowly working my way through the Chestnut Springs series and I’m about 150 pages into Powerless. I’ve been curious about Jasper and I have to say this one is hitting in the feels from the start. Elsie Silver has a way of making you love characters and feel for them and also laugh out loud. I fly through her books.
Booked for the Holidays – Chelsea Curto
Christmas is getting closer which means I’m consuming all things Christmas. At the moment, I’m about halfway through Booked for the Holidays and this grumpy/sunshine romance is so much fun. Both of our characters have depth and it’s a slow burn. Our FMC owns a bookstore and there’s a holiday competition. Need I say more?
What do you think you’ll read next?
The Colour of Magic – Terry Pratchett
My in person book club is meeting a little earlier this month because of the holidays, so I have to pick up our December book. The Colour of Magic is what we voted for and I’m excited to give Discworld a try. I know this is a very loved series and it looks like a lot of fun.
When the Moon Hatched – Sarah A. Parker
When the Moon Hatched has been pretty hyped and it’s one I’ve been curious about. This one seems to have some mixed reviews, but I like going into a book and seeing what I think myself. It’s a big book, but I’ll be listening along with the audiobook.
So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! Have you read any amazing books lately? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
An interesting mix of books. I don’t really do horror but as someone pointed out some Mystery Thrillers border on it so 😂
I’ve not read the Discworld series. I feel that I need to at some point.
Have a great week!
