We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is a freebie. I always find it difficult to come up with a topic for freebies like this. After looking at some of the previous topics I decided to do a part 2 of Candyce’s destination titles post last month. Let’s see if I can come up with 10 books that have names of places as titles.
1. The Lights of Prague – Nicole Jarvis
I think this is the most ‘destination title’ title on this list haha. Prague for sure is a destination and it’s one I love! I was in Prague this summer, it’s such a nice city. Would for sure recommend visiting if you ever have the chance. Hopefully this book can take me back to Prague.
2. The Lying Woods – Ashley Elston
This is much more of a vague destination, but it does sound interesting. What are the lying woods and why are the woods lying? I really liked the Ashley Elston books I have read so far and I can’t wait to find out where she takes me in this book.
3. The City of Brass – S.A. Chakraborty
I have been wanting to read this one for such a long time now! The City of Brass sounds like a very interesting destination, I can’t wait to find out why this city is named like this and what is going on.
4. Jade City – Fonda Lee
Another city! I think I already have an idea as to why this is called Jade City but it will be interesting to see if I am correct. Fonda Lee wrote a great novella I really enjoyed, it made me even more excited to pick this one up.
5. Forest of a Thousand Lanterns
While I don’t like the cover for this one, the title does intrigue me. I also think I read somewhere that this is a villain origin story and I am excited to read more of those. The ‘destination’ in this title sounds really pretty.
6. Empire of the Vampire – Jay Kristoff
This is a destination I would like to skip haha. But it’s one I do love to read about! Lately there have been more books about vampires and I approve for sure. I need to pick this one up soonish.
7. Beyond a Darkened Shore – Jessica Leake
This destination is pretty vague but I think it counts. I used this book for a try a chapter tag once and I remember it being pretty interesting. While I don’t plan on reading it really soon, I do still want to read this at some point.
8. The Coldest Girl in Coldtown – Holly Black
Coldtown doesn’t sound like the best destination ever, but it is interesting for sure. This is another vampire book, but it from the previous wave of vampire books haha. It will be cool to see how this compares with the current wave of vampire books.
9. Keeper of the Lost Cities – Shannon Messenger
I have to say, I know very little about this book and I also have no idea what this destination will be. But the book looks gorgeous and the reviews are really good. Can’t wait to pick this up at some point.
10. The Night Circus – Erin Morgenstern
This ‘destination’ might be more the one travelling but at the same time it will also be visited. So for me it counts as a destination! I have heard so many great things about this book and at some point I really need to find out for myself.
These are 10 books that have destination titles! It was fun thinking about these although I might have cheated a bit with some haha. Have you read any of these books? Do you recommend them? I would love to hear from you!
I really enjoyed The Coldest Girl in Coldtown!
A great collection of destinations.

The Coldest Girl in Cold Town is one of my favorites. 🙂
Great list! I’m amazed by how many books there are with destinations in the titles. I love The Night Circus so much, it would be strange yet fun to visit the circus 🙂
