We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is a Thankful/Thanksgiving freebie, so I’m going to talk about some of the books I’m thankful for! Let’s take a look.
Throne of Glass – Sarah J. Maas
Throne of Glass is one of my favorite fantasy series (even if it took me six years to read the final book). This series is also what eventually had us blogging and going on bookstagram. A readalong brought some fun outings and a place in the bookish community.
Twilight – Stephenie Meyer
Reading is something I’ve always loved, but there have been times where I’ve read less or more. Twilight is a series that got me back to reading more. I read the first book right before the final book was released, so I devoured this series in almost one go.
The House in the Cerulean Sea – TJ Klune
How can I not be thankful for a book that feels like a warm hug? Found family is such an amazing trope and this book portrays that in such a heartwarming way. This will definitely be a book I reread over and over again.
Hate – Tate James
Even though I’ve loved reading romance for quite some time, I was never sure if dark romance was for me. Hate was my first taste of this side of the genre and I have to say it led me to a whole new world and an amazing Discord book club. Another book that’s brought me some amazing people and books.
The Wheel of Time – Robert Jordan
I have to say this series wasn’t on my radar until I was at my boyfriend’s house for a few days and finished the only book I had with me in one sitting. My boyfriend is a big fan of this series and thought I’d love them. He was right and I did! This series is huge and took some time, but I loved every minute of it. It was fun to share a series with him that he loved.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone – J.K. Rowling
So I don’t agree with J.K. Rowling at all and think all the things she’s said and done are awful, but I am grateful for Harry Potter. I actually received the fourth book for Christmas before we moved to The Netherlands. I didn’t have any of the other books, but once I started reading them they were friends to me while I settled in a new country.
So here are some of the many books I’m thankful for! In all honesty, I’m just grateful for books in general. They’re amazing and have led me to some amazing people and authors. What books are you thankful for? Do we have any in common? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
Someday I should read the Wheel of Time series.
I’m thankful for Harry Potter too! I grew up with those books, and they were a huge part of my childhood.

Fab list! Throne of Glass = love!
I’m grateful for the HP books as well. They didn’t come out until I was in my 20s, but I loved them so much. I also love that they have encouraged so many children to love reading and helped to make reading something that is “cool” instead of nerdy (like it was considered when I was a kid).
Happy TTT!

I love how books can offer us friends while we adapt to new things, especially a big move.

I agree with you about J.K. Rowling’s but I do love the Harry Potter series.

Great list! I feel the same way about Harry Potter. Interestingly, the fourth book was the first one I owned too 🙂
