WWW Wednesday #71

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

All I Want Is You – Falon Ballard

Even though it’s spooky season, I’ve decided to start my Christmas reading. All I Want Is You was a great book to start with. This book has a character who loves Christmas, forced proximity, banter, rival exes, and a few steamy scenes. I hope Falon writes more Christmas romances.

The Only One Left – Riley Sager

After reading The Only One Left, I’m not really sure Riley Sager is an author for me. This is the second book I didn’t really enjoy written by him. The Only One Left had me hooked for the first 300 pages, but once we started getting reveals, it kind of lost me. Some of the reveals felt a bit far-fetched and maybe just one too many twists?

What are you currently reading?

One of Us Knows – Alyssa Cole

I’m currently listening to One of Us Knows and it’s definitely off to an interesting start. Our main character becomes the caregiver of a historic estate. Apparently she finds herself trapped on this island with a murderer. This is really interesting, because our main character has the diagnosis dissociative identity disorder. It’s interesting so far to see how this is incorporated in the book.

Grimstone – Sophie Lark

Grimstone is a book I started a couple of weeks ago. I ended up being distracted by other books, haha. Our main character inherited a house from her uncle, but it’s in desperate need of some care. This is a dark contemporary romance and I know it’ll be getting dark very soon.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Death at Morning House – Maureen Johnson

After loving the Truly Devious series, I knew I needed to read Maureen’s standalone mystery. Death at Morning House takes place on an island. Our main character is trying to prevent history from repeating itself. All I know is something bad happened there.

Six Scorched Roses – Carissa Broadbent

I was recently approved for The Songbird & the Heart of Stone, so I want to catch up with this series. I know the first duology is complete, but this does take place after that and about a character we meet in previous books. I don’t want to miss anything, so I’m starting with Six Scorched Roses. A novella that was released between The Serpent and the Wings of Night and The Ashes & the Star-Cursed King.

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! Have you read any amazing books lately? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
