As we’ve mentioned before, one of our most important reading goals of is shrinking our physical TBR’s. Sometimes it’s hard to think of what books we still have or what subjects to read about. So we needed a way to keep track of this. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.
This week’s topic is City Setting. I read a lot of fantasy and most of those aren’t set in a city. But I do have a couple books that come to mind right away. I’m optimistic that I can find 5 books with a city setting on my shelves. Let’s see if I was right!
1. Jade City – Fonda Lee
With a title like this, I had to include it! This one has been on my TBR for such a long time now, and I’ve included it in way too many lists. I hope to read it this fall, I have high hopes for it haha.
2. The Lights of Prague – Nicole Jarvis
Another pretty obvious one haha. I bought this one because of the title, I love Prague and I’m excited to read about it in a book. The series I just finished was also partly set in Prague and I really enjoyed reading about landmarks I have seen in real life.
3. The City of Brass – S.A. Chakraborty
Another one that has been on my TBR for way too long. I loved the previous S.A. Chakraborty book I read and I’m really excited to dive into this one. Based on the synopsis and my enjoyment of that previous book, I have pretty high hopes for this one!
4. The Hate U Give – Angie Thomas
I have been planning on reading this one forever, and unfortunately it is still as relevant as it was when it was first released. While I’m not completely sure on the setting, I do think this is set in a pretty big city so I’m counting it!
5. The Black Tulip – Alexandre Dumas
And this last one is one pretty far outside my comfortzone! I don’t read a lot of classics but I couldn’t resist this cover. And I love that this is set in the Netherlands! I thought it was set in Amsterdam but that doesn’t seem the case, it is set in a city though!
And those are 5 books on my TBR set in cities! Which one should I pick up first? Let me know in the comments down below!
