We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!
It’s still vacation time here, and a few of my colleagues are still on vacation, so it’s been busy! Thankfully, a couple are coming back this week and next week and things will calm down. We also had a game night with two of our friends. It was a fun evening of games and chatting.
Our cat Shadow also gave us a bit of a scare last week. She started limping out of nowhere, and after everything that happened with her sister earlier this year, it had us really worried. The limp went away after a few hours, but a few days later she started again and it seemed like she was in pain. So we took her to the vet and she had x-rays done. Thankfully it’s nothing like what Shasta had, but unfortunately our furry one has arthritis in her back paws and right hip. We’re now treating it with pain medication and hoping it progresses slowly.
Since my last Royal Update I’ve added one eARC to my Kindle: The Matchmaker. I didn’t even realize this is a 2025 release! It doesn’t feel like we should be getting ready for those yet, haha.
Since my last Royal Update I finished reading: The Au Pair Affair, Fun Fact: I Love You, Silent Sister, Last Seen Online, American Royals, Sunrise Nights, Love Lessons, Riley Thorn and the Dead Guy Next Door, Prime Time Romance, The Villain Edit, and Majesty.
I’m currently reading: House of Earth and Blood (reread), The Girls I’ve Been, The Book Swap and This Vicious Grace.
Next I’m reading: The Game Changer, Four Eids and a Funeral, and Caraval (reread).
I’ve watched two movies since my last update: A Man Called Otto and Anyone But You. A Man Called Otto definitely had me tearing up, and I’m hoping to read the book soon. Anyone But You was just a fun romantic comedy. I need movies like that every once in a while.
The Script released their new album last Friday, so that’s what I’ve been listening to on repeat. I’m enjoying the new songs!
