As we’ve mentioned before, one of our most important reading goals of is shrinking our physical TBR’s. Sometimes it’s hard to think of what books we still have or what subjects to read about. So we needed a way to keep track of this. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.
This week’s topic is books ab0ut books. And I have to say, this is a hard one! I don’t have any books that come to mind right away, but I will take a look at my shelves and see what I come up with. Let’s jump in!
The Archived – V.E. Schwab
Okay, so technically this might not be about books. But there is a library and instead of books it has ghosts I believe. Of course I haven’t read this yet, so I’m not 100 percent sure but I feel like this one would work.
Ink and Bone – Rachel Caine
This is about the Great Library and in this book people aren’t allowed to own books. I have heard great things about this series and I own the first two books.
Strange the Dreamer – Laini Taylor
For this one I wasn’t completely sure if it was actually about books. But I believe the main character is a librarian so I’m sure there will be some books in this story. This is another one that sounds great and has many positive reviews. I want to finish Laini’s other book series first (and I’m so close to finishing it…) before I finally dive into this one.
A Discovery of Witches – Deborah Harkness
This one has been on my TBR for quite a while now. I have recently started watching the tv show so I do know that there is at least one important book in the story. With books like this, sometimes it’s easier to get through once you’ve seen part of it as a tv show. So hopefully I can pick this one up soonish.
The Shadow of the Wind – Carlos Ruiz Zafón
This one has been on my TBR for almost 10 years now I think. It’s one of those books I would like to have read at some point but I haven’t really felt the urge to pick it up yet. This seems to be a bit of a mystery with magical realism and I’m actually getting more excited to pick this up.
What do you think, do these 5 books work as ‘books about books’? Have you read any of them? And which one should I pick up first? Let me know down below!
