I loved the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder books series by Holly Jackson, so of course I was very much interested in the tv show! And while it was already available to watch on the BBC, the tv show just got released on Netflix. I obviously dove in right away and today I want to share my thoughts with you all!
Pip Fitz-Amobi, a brilliant woman, is unsure whether schoolgirl Andie Bell was killed by her lover Sal Singh five years ago. How far will they go to protect Pip from learning the truth if Sal Singh turns out not to be the murderer?
This show only has 6 episodes, so you’ll fly through it in no time at all. The only reason I didn’t do it in one sitting was because I had places to be haha. As soon as I was able to though, I finished the series.
I have read all three books so I did know the main plot going in, although I have to admit I did realise I forgot some details haha. There have been some changes from book to tv show and I didn’t catch some of them as it has been years since I read the books. I have to say, I wasn’t that upset about them, the main plot and feel of the book and the characters were still very much there in my opinion.
And if you’ve read all 3 books, there were some mentions of things that happen in book 3 so I’m hoping there will be another season because I NEED book 3 in this show. I’ll admit I have forgotten some important details from book 2 and since they left out a character in this first season I don’t know how they will tackle that. But I’m up for it either way. Watching this show also has me craving a reread haha. So I might just start doing that soon….
All in all, I really enjoyed the show. They casted some good actors for the roles and while the music was sometimes a bit loud I loved the choices in music. I would definitely recommend watching this show, wether you read the books or you didn’t!
