As we’ve mentioned before, one of our most important reading goals of is shrinking our physical TBR’s. Sometimes it’s hard to think of what books we still have or what subjects to read about. So we needed a way to keep track of this. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.
This week’s topic is Hyped Books You Skipped on in the Past and I think that’s a great topic as I’ve just read Fourth Wing, one of the most hyped books of the past year. I’m not sure how many hyped books I have on my TBR, but we’ll see. Let’s dive in!
1. Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow – Gabrielle Zevin
This might not be the most hyped book on here but I do feel like for a while everyone was talking about this one and I saw nothing but rave reviews. I did buy it not too long after the release but I still haven’t picked it up.
2. The Atlas Six – Olivie Blake
This is for sure a hyped book! At first I wasn’t planning on reading this one as I feared it wouldn’t be good but just hyped. At some point it did start to peak my interest though! And now I do have it on my shelves haha. I do plan on reading this one soonish.
3. Gideon the Ninth – Tamsyn Muir
When this was released everyone was talking about it and it seemed like everyone loved it. But not too long after there started to pop up more and more negative reviews. And ever since I haven’t had the urge to pick this one up. At some point I will!
4. Legendary – Stephanie Garber
Especially Caraval was super hyped! And I have to admit, I did buy these books for the gorgeous naked hardcovers haha. I did read Caraval, but I didn’t love it unfortunately. And I’m not sure I will pick up book 2&3 anytime soon.
5. Jade City – Fonda Lee
This one might be less hyped but if was all over my insta and Goodreads timeline. So at least with the people I follow it was really popular. By now the whole series has been released do it’s beyond time that I start reading this one!
And those were 5 hyped books on my TBR. Have you read any of these? Do you agree that they are hyped? And do you understand the hype? Let me know down below!
