We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

Summer break has officially begun! And I couldn’t be happier haha. These past two weeks have been a lot of fun but also super tiring. Both the kids and I were so ready for the summer break so it was hard work in my classroom to keep everything going. But in the end we also had a lot of fun and it’s weird saying goodbye to the kids that will start high school next year. At the same time I’m excited to start the new year and I already have some fun ideas.

These past two weeks I had dinner with coworker friends multiple times, watched the semi-final at my coworker-friend-vacation buddy’s place, slept at her place for the last day of school and the end of year drinks, had dinner with my best friend, practiced for the Dutch championships jigsaw puzzling and tried to get ready for my trip tomorrow!

I got an eARC for Buried Deep and Other Stories by Naomi Novik. These are all short stories set in her different worlds and I’m super excited to read these.

I finished This Is Why We Lied, another reread of Throne of Glass and Iron Flame. And now I’m in a bit of a slump to be honest haha. I have started my eARC of My Salty Mary, but other than that I’m not sure what I want to read. And that is a bit of a problem because I leave on my trip tomorrow and I need to pick what books I’m bringing…. So any suggestions would be great ;).

I binged My Lady Jane last week and I loved it. Afterwards I started watching Allegiance and I finally got back to For All Mankind. I will be watching those shows the coming weeks I think, but I’m already on the lookout for something after those.

Of course I’m still listening to LOOM by Imagine Dragons on repeat. But I’m also listening to The Secret of Us by Maisie Peters a lot. And Taylor is always in the mix as well haha.

And that was my Royal Update for the week! Next time I will already be home from my trip, insane to think about. But for now I will just enjoy it so so much. What have you been up to this past week? And what have you been reading, watching and listening to? Let me know down below!
