We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books on My Summer 2024 To-Read List. I’m not a TBR list girly but I do always have some books I would love to read soonish. So for this list I have a combination of books I already own, eARC’s and upcoming releases. Let’s take a look at that (possible) summer tbr!
1. Iron Flame – Rebecca Yarros
I devoured Fourth Wing and have started with Iron Flame. But I have been listening to the graphic audio’s and part 2 of 2 of Iron Flame won’t be released until July 12th, so I have to wait a bit longer before I can dive into that one. As soon as it releases though, I will be diving in! I have been screaming out loud with all those plot twists haha.
2. Haikyu – Haruichi Furudate
My next Haikyu will be volume 38, and I plan on reading all of them this summer. So that means 8 more volumes before I’m completely done. I will hate being finished but at the same time I just can’t stop. This is such a wonderful series and I love all of the characters, it will be hard saying goodbye to them.
3. The Grandest Game – Jennifer Lynn Barnes
I love the Inheritance Games series and I’m excited for this spin off series. It’s hard to admit, but I still need to finish the final book in the main series so I guess I could’ve added that to this list as well haha. That will be one of the first books I’ll read this summer!
4. Dune – Frank Herbert
I love the Dune movies so much and it made me want to continue reading the Dune book series. Years ago I read the first book, but I never read the rest after reading so many negative reviews. However, with a third movie coming and it (probably) covering the second book, I guess I have to dive back in.
5. Assistant to the Villain – Hannah Nicole Maehrer
I already read a little bit of this one and thought it was really enjoyable. This is for sure a book I will want to finish reading this summer. I love the premise and if I enjoy this one I will be right on time for the August release date of the second book in the series.
6. Jade City – Fonda Lee
I have been saying I want to read this one for quite a while now, oops. It is still very much true and I do hope to read it this summer! Jade City sounds like a book I will love and I have heard nothing but good things about it.
7. Blessed Monsters – Emily A. Duncan
It’s been a while since I read the first two books in this series but I would love to finish the series. I have been trying to get caught up with more series on my shelves and I think this might be the next series I will cross off the TBR list!
8. Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea – Rebecca Thorne
I have an eARC of this book and think it sounds really cute. A cosy bookshop, dragons, a murderous queen, sign me up! It looks like the reviews are all over the place so I’m super curious to see where I will fall.
9. Daughter of the Drowned Empire – Frankie Diane Mallis
This is one of my latest eARC’s and I’m really excited to pick this one up. It’s a romantasy story and is marketed as Cleopatra meets Throne of Glass. I love Throne of Glass with all my heart so I really hope this story will live up to that marketing ;).
10. Immortal Longings – Chloe Gong
I have heard so many great things about this book! It might finally be time for me to pick up this eARC. I love that there is a competition element, that always gets me excited. After checking Goodreads, I see that my bookish friends don’t agree about this one at all haha. I guess I will have to try it and see for myself!
These are 10 books that might be on my Summer TBR. I’m much more of a mood reader so there is no guarantee these will be the books I read this super. But we can hope! Have you read any of these books? Did you like them? Which one should I start with? Let me know down below!
I really should read Dune sometime!

Assistant to the Villain was super fun, I’m looking forward to the next book. I put Fourth Wing on my TBR for summer to see what the fuss is about.
