TTT #341 | Authors I’d Love a New Book From

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Authors I’d Love a New Book From. I like this topic! But it is one I have to think about for a bit. There are some obvious answers of course but hopefully also some less obvious ones. Let’s jump in!

1. Gillian Flynn

Some of the best and shocking thrillers I’ve read have been written by Gillian Flynn. But it’s been 10 years since the last story and I’m really scared there won’t be another one. There were talks of 2 new books but I believe the first one was supposed to be published 5 years ago…

2. George R.R. Martin

I just want the A Song of Ice and Fire series to be done. Please give me The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring. It doesn’t need to be perfect, just an ending to the story! Book 5 was released 13 years ago, please please please give us something haha.

3. Abigail Haas

Dangerous Girls was one of my favorite YA thrillers and I have been craving more books like it ever since I read it in 2015. Abigail has written some more books under another name but as Abigail Haas she only has the two YA thrillers. And it looks like there hasn’t been a new book under either name in years.

4. Jenny Han

The To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy is a favorite of mine and I would love to read something similar. I have also read Jenny’s the Summer I Turned Pretty series but I wish we were getting a new book. Jenny has been busy with the movies and tv show of course, but hopefully she’s also writing something!

5. Naomi Novik

There is a short story collection coming, with stories from her different worlds. So stories from Temeraire, stories set in the Scholomance, and from both Uprooted and Spinning Silver. And while I’m definitely excited for it, I would also love a new series by Naomi Novik.

6. Sarah J. Maas

I know we just got a new book and there is more coming but I just wish we were getting a new book in the next couple of months haha. These series are some of my favorites and I will be rereading them again. But I would just love love love a new book right away haha.

7. V.E. Schwab

I know Victoria is writing as fast as she can and there are more books coming. But like with Sarah J. Maas I just wish we were already getting a new book. I love all the books I’ve read so far and I’m lucky to say I still have a book or 2 on my TBR that I can read. Yet, I’m very much looking forward to all the new books coming our way.

8. Ashley Flowers

I love the Crime Junkie podcast so much, so of course I immediately picked up Ashley’s crime fiction book when it came out. That was 2 years ago, and I just think it’s about time we’re getting another one haha. I really enjoyed the story, as I love Ashley’s storytelling and I really hope we’re getting more.

9. Libba Bray

I adore the Libba Bray books I’ve read so far and I really hope we’re getting more. There hasn’t been a mention of a new book as far as I know and it’s been a couple of years now. After writing this I found out there is a new book coming in 2025!

10. Hannah Capin

Foul is Fair is one of the best books I’ve read and I just need another book like it. I also really enjoyed The Dead Queens Club and I should really continue I Am Margaret Moore. But after that, there’s nothing! Not even a mention of another book. I really hope Hannah will be writing more books because I think she does a fantastic job.

These are the authors I would love new books from! Some of them will happen (soonish) but for others I fear it will never happen unfortunately. It was fun to look through the authors I enjoy, because I also found out there will be some new books for authors that therefor didn’t make the list haha. What author would you love a new book from? Let me know in the comments!
