Bookish Item| My Most Recent Netgalley Requests

I’m sure most people that visit the blog know what Netgalley is, but it’s a platform to request e-galleys on to read before a book is published. This is definitely a rabbit hole that’s easy to fall down, but there are just so many amazing sounding books releasing this year.

I’ve been actively working on increasing my feedback ratio, but I couldn’t resist a little requesting spree. Here are five books I recently requested. I have no clue if I’ll be approved, but I’ll be reading them either way.

Summer Fridays – Suzanne Rindell (May 28th)

I love that Summer Fridays is described as You Got Mail for a new generation. This takes place in the summer of 1999 and I’m really excited to read it. Our main character is an assistant in the publishing field and wants to be an author. That always catches my eye.

The Glass Girl – Kathleen Glasgow (October 1st)

Kathleen Glasgow writes hard-hitting contemporary and I couldn’t put Girl in Pieces down. I still need to read the other two on my shelves, but The Glass Girl is one I had to add to my TBR. It seems our main character in this one needs to face her struggles with alcohol.

Rules for Ghosting – Shelly Jay Shore (August 20th)

Our main character needs to save his family’s funeral, but to do so he needs to use his gifts and a clairvoyant and he doesn’t want to. I have a feeling this is going to be an emotional read, but a heartwarming one as well.

Casket Case – Lauren Evans (September 10th)

Casket Case is about a woman who returns home to run her family’s casket business, and falls in love with a man who works for Death. I don’t think I’ve ever read something like this and I have to say I’m intrigued. This is described as a rom-com, so I’m looking forward to reading Casket Case.

The Champions – Kara Thomas

The Champions takes place in the same town as The Cheerleaders and it’s eleven years later. The town is trying to get back to normal, but a football player is poisoned. This sounds like another interesting thriller. I’m excited to read another thriller by Kara Thomas.

So here are five of my most recent requests. I’m excited to see if I’ll get access, but if not, I’ll definitely pick them up when they release. Are any of these on your radar? Or have you requested anything on Netgalley lately? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
