As I’ve mentioned before, one of my important reading goals of 2023 is shrinking my physical TBR. Sometimes it’s hard to think of what books I still have or subjects I want to read about. So we needed a way to keep track of this. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.
This week’s topic is released in the decade you were born. I can tell you that I have no books on my TBR that released in the 80’s. So I’m giving myself a freebie this week. So today I’m talking about five books on my TBR that are 2024 releases. I didn’t do this Five On My TBR earlier in January. Let’s take a look!
A Fate Inked in Blood – Danielle L. Jensen
A Fate Inked in Blood is one of the newest books I’ve added to my TBR. This book actually doesn’t release until tomorrow, but my preorder arrived early. I have an eARC of A Fate Inked in Blood, but I couldn’t pass up the pretty first edition print. This is the start of a new romantasy series that is inspired by Norse folklore. I have a feeling I’m going to love this book.
Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands – Heather Fawcett
Last year I loved Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries. That was such a cozy book and I was very excited about the next book that came out last month. Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands is a brand new adventure. I read the first book while on vacation from work last March, so I plan on reading one on my vacation that starts next week.
At First Spite – Olivia Dade
After loving Spoiler Alert, I was really excited when Olivia announced At First Spire. This book is also the first book I got from my Afterlight subscription and this edition is stunning. This enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and small town romance sounds amazing.
House of Flame and Shadow – Sarah J. Maas
So after loving the first two Crescent City books, House of Flame and Shadow was one of my most anticipated releases of 2024. It’s over 800 pages and I have read the first 50 pages, but I’ve been distracted by other books. I will be reading more of this one soon. I’ve been able to avoid spoilers so far and I want to keep it that way.
The Breakup Tour – Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka
This married author duo has written a few books that I’ve loved and The Breakup Tour is a book that’s right up my alley. From what I’ve seen around this is a Taylor Swift inspired romance. So far this book has received some mixed reviews, but I’m curious to read it myself.
So here are five books on my TBR that are 2024 releases! Do you have any 2024 releases on your TBR? Or any books from the decade you were born (the actual prompt for today)? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
I’ve heard of most of these books but haven’t read any of them. I hope you are able to find time to read them all this year. I would be interested to see if I have any books on my TBR that were published in my birth decade, there may be a few.
