We wanted to do another bookish meme on Wednesday and after doing Can’t Wait Wednesday a few times we decided that would be a fun one to bring around more often! About twice a month you’ll see this meme on our blog.
Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
Dinosaurs and portals, and a girl who can find both in the latest book in the Hugo and Nebula Award-Winning series.
Antsy is the latest student to pass through the doors at Eleanor West’s School for Wayward Children.
When her fellow students realize that Antsy’s talent for finding absolutely anything may extend to doors, she’s forced to flee in the company of a small group of friends, looking for a way back to the Shop Where the Lost Things Go to be sure that Vineta and Hudson are keeping their promise.
Along the way, temptations are dangled, decisions are reinforced, and a departure to a world populated by dinosaurs brings untold dangers and one or two other surprises!
A story that reminds us that finding what you want doesn’t always mean finding what you need.
I have read and enjoyed all the instalments in the Wayward Children series and it’s almost time for the newest release! This will be book 9 and it releases January 9th. I haven’t loved all of the latest releases but I am still invested in this series for sure. Jack and Jill were my favorite characters to read about and I’m not totally on board with the newer main characters.
But I love the synopsis for this ninth book in the series and it got me really excited. Of course I want to read about a world with dinosaurs and I can’t wait to find out what the surprises are. Since it’s partly set at Eleanor’s school I have hope we’ll see some of our favorite students. These books are super quick reads so they’re perfect to start the year with!
Have you read the first 8 book in the Wayward Children series? Are you excited about this release? And who have been your favorite characters? Let me know in the comments!
Dinosaurs and portals- yes please!
