It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!
It’s been awhile since I’ve done a WWW Wednesday and I’m actually doing this post a bit in advance. So my reading will look different when this comes online, but I still wanted to share!
So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What did you recently finish reading?
Things We Never Got Over – Lucy Score
Things We Never Got Over is a book that has been everywhere and gets a lot of hype. It’s one that always sounded good to me, but I guess I was afraid my expectations would be too high. I was so wrong! This book is worth all of the hype and didn’t feel like a 500 page book. My review will be up later this week.
A Kingdom of Gods and Ruin – Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti
Even though I have other series going by this author duo, I was very intrigued about this new series. A Kingdom of Gods and Ruin is a prequel to this new Aladdin retelling and it was so good. After reading this I’m so curious about this world and what’s going to happen.
Quarterback Sneak – Kandi Steiner
Lately I’ve been in the mood for sports romances and after finishing Blind Side I decided it was good to read more of this series. Quarterback Sneak was so good! I love Holden and Julep and I’ll definitely be reading the other two books in this series.
What are you currently reading?
Glint – Raven Kennedy
After loving Gild more than I expected to, I decided to dive right into Gild. I’m not very far yet, but it’s interesting so far. I can’t wait to see how Auren’s journey continues. I’m also very curious about Rip. There’s definitely more to that character.
The Lies of Locke Lamora – Scott Lynch
The Lies of Locke Lamora is the book for my in person book club. So much happens in this book and I noticed it was taking me forever to read it (even though I’m really enjoying it). I ended up reading the physical book with the audiobook in the background it was very helpful. Locke Lamora is an interesting character and these heists are intense!
Cursed Fates – Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti
I’ve been reading Cursed Fates for quite awhile and it’s time for me to finally finish it! Part of me is still afraid for the characters I love, but I’m enjoying this too much to not continue reading.
What do you think you’ll read next?
Anatomy: A Love Story – Dana Schwartz
After finishing this post, I actually plan on picking this one up. Our female main character would rather be a surgeon than marry and that’s not something accepted in this time. So she finds someone to help her practice, so she can go to school. While this happens they try and solve why his friends keep going missing. I don’t read historical fiction that often, but this sounds amazing.
Things We Hide From the Light – Lucy Score
After loving Things We Never Got Over I need to continue and read Nash’s story. Things We Hide From the Light is another big book, but if it’s anything like the first book it won’t feel like that at all. If I love this one as well I think it’ll be time to work on more of Lucy Score’s backlist.
Seven Faceless Saints – M.K. Lobb
Seven Faceless Saints is a group read I’m helping host in TBR and Beyond this month and it a dark fantasy with a murder-mystery plot. That combination sounds really intriguing! I’m excited to learn about this world and see what happens.
So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! What have you been reading recently? Anything I should pick up soon? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
oooh I love the Lies of Locke Lamora! Glad you are enjoying it! The seven faceless saints looks intriguing too!
I LOVED Anatomy: A Love Story by Dana Schwartz. It was a quick, engaging read and well-researched! I can’t wait to pick up her second book in the series, which just came out this month I believe. Hope you enjoy it, too!
I loved the Lies of Locke Lamora when I read it last week and can’t believe that I hadn’t read it before now.
