WWW Wednesday #21

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

Mexican Gothic – Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Mexican Gothic was a book on my TBR since it released and I finally read it. I loved the vibes and the creepiness the story made me feel. Definitely perfect for this time of year. My only complaint was that the ending seemed a little bit easy and rushed. This book should’ve been just a little longer.

Love in the Time of Serial Killers – Alicia Thompson

I picked up Love in the Time of Serial Killers, because I loved the idea of our main character thinking her neighbor was a serial killer. While this was a cute romance and I thought the facts about true crime were interesting, I was a bit disappointed that the whole serial killer aspect had such a short part in this book. I think it could’ve been fun if there was more to it.

Yes & I Love You – Roni Loren

Yes & I Love You was a book I meant to read at the beginning of the year, but ended up getting distracted. This is a case of I should’ve read this book sooner. Hollyn and Jasper were such amazing characters. I laughed, cried, and swooned with this book. I’ll definitely be reading the next book in the series soon.

What are you currently reading?

The Do-Over – Lynn Painter

Lynn Painter got auto-buy author status after reading Better Than the Movies last year and Mr. Wrong Number this year. The Do-Over releases in November and I am so happy with my e-arc. Our main character is reliving her worst Valentine’s Day ever and I’m about 30% in. I’m loving the story so far.

A Merry Little Meet Cute – Julie Murphy & Sierra Simone

Okay, so I know it’s October, but I’m already in a holiday mood. A Merry Little Meet Cute is a book I got on Netgalley and even though I’ve only read a few chapters I’ve already laughed out loud a few times. This book also seems to be a bit more steamy than I was expecting.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Go Hex Yourself – Jessica Clare

Even though I’m reading a Christmas book, I do plan on some Halloween reads. A romantic comedy with witches? Yes, please! This seems to be an enemies to lovers stories and those can be so much fun!

Hide – Kiersten White

So I normally don’t read horror, but Hide has a story that really caught my attention. Our characters must stay in an abandoned amusement park for 7 days and not get caught. We all know that this is going to end up going very wrong. I’ll probably read this during the day on a day off. I’m too much of a scaredy cat for books like this at nighttime.

A Flicker in the Dark – Stacy Willingham

So when this post comes online I’ll probably already be reading A Flicker in the Dark. I went back to work on Monday after three weeks off and A Flicker in the Dark is going to be my audiobook during my commute. I’m hoping this thriller ends up being as good as it sounds.

I’ve been lucky with books so far this month and hope to continue going this way. What are you reading? Have you read any books recently that are amazing and I should know about? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
