WWW Wednesday #16

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

The Godparent Trap – Rachel Van Dyken

The Godparent Trap was a book I read in just about one sitting. I loved Colby and Rip. This story was very emotional, but heartwarming at the same time. It was just the book I needed!

My Killer Vacation – Tessa Bailey

After reading It Happened One Summer and enjoying it I was really excited about starting My Killer Vacation. Unfortunately, this book didn’t work for me at all. It was too much smut and the mystery felt more like an afterthought. I’m sure plenty of people will love it, but it’s not for me.

What are you currently reading?

I’m reading way too many books to talk about all of them, so here are a few I’m reading now.

Nyxia Unleashed – Scott Reintgen

Nyxia was such an intense read a friend and I decided to continue with the trilogy. We have a couple more days to go and we’ll be done with the sequel, Nyxia Unleashed. This story has so many twists and turns I really have no clue how this is going to end! I know I’ll need to the third book, so it’s on its way.

Lessons in Chemistry – Bonnie Garmus

Lessons in Chemistry is a book I’ve seen everywhere and heard nothing but amazing things about. This book takes place in the 50s and 60s and our main character Elizabeth is way behind her times. I love that she won’t accept her being a woman as an answer why she couldn’t do something. I’m so glad I picked this up.

Kings of Quarantine – Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti

So this is the author duo behind Zodiac Academy and a bookclub I’m in decided to read this first book as a weekly read. I’m still working on it, because I’m reading so much at once. I can definitely tell the authors behind Zodiac Academy wrote this and I’m excited to see where it goes. I’m not sure how the whole pandemic will come to play in this story, but it may be interesting.

What do you think you’ll read next?

So many books are calling to me right now. I want to read them all!

Just Another Love Song – Kerry Winfrey

I’m so looking forward to this second chance romance. Look at this amazing cover for Just Another Love Song. The publisher reached out if I wanted to be on the blog tour for this one and I couldn’t say no. So I’ll be reading this one soon.

You, Me, and Our Heartstrings – Melissa See

You, Me, and Our Heartstrings has been on my radar and I was excited when Scholastic approved me on Edelweiss. Both of our characters want to use the their holiday concert at school to land an audition for Julliard. Things may get tricky when they have to work together when chosen to play a duet. I love stories like this!

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! What are your answers to these questions this week? Read any good books I really need to know about? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.

  1. Okay – you have so many great romances on your post that I’m just going to bookmark the page.

Your experience with My Killer Vacation feels like mine with Slippery Creatures – that was a LOT of smut and not enough mystery. It was like a bad dance movie, not enough plot between the open door scenes.
