Bookhaul | June 2022

It’s the first day of July (how is that already possible?!?) and that means it’s time to look back at June. So first up is our June bookhaul. Did we get any new books? Were we good? Keep on reading to find out!

Candyce

June was a pretty good bookish month! I ended up adding 7 books to my shelves this month. Three of these I pre-ordered in May and they finally arrived, 2 were bookstagram made me do it, 1 ARC from Harper360YA, and 1 was a gift from my mother when we went shopping together.

Gild, Glint & Gleam – Raven Kennedy

I’ve been curious about this series for quite some time, but have been on the fence. I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews. That being said a publisher in the UK picked them up and published the paperbacks that weren’t too expensive. I’m too curious not to give these books a go.

The Confidence of Wildflowers & The Resurrection of Wildflowers – Micalea Smeltzer

This duology was definitely a case of bookstagram made me do it (and a little bit of booktube). Quite a few people seem to be loving the first book and the second one gets mixed reviews. A lot of people describe it as a really long epilogue. And just look at these stunning covers!

The New Girl – Jesse Q. Sutanto

Jesse Q. Sutanto is an author I know from Dial A for Aunties and I loved that book. The New Girl is a YA thriller that takes place at a prestigious school. I love settings like that and want to read more thrillers, so why not try something new by an author I’ve enjoyed before?

Meet Me in the Middle – Alex Light

I got a newsletter from Harper360YA for ARC signups for newer titles and ended up getting a physical of Meet Me in the Middle. I’m so excited about reading this book. It releases near the middle of July, so keep an eye out for my review. Grief is something we all deal with in different ways and it seems that these main characters will be doing that together.

Isabelle

I feel like I keep repeating myself over and over haha. But this is another month with no new books. I still have some gift cards (even got some more haha) so I do think I will be getting some books very soon! But for now I will just try to decrease my TBR (not that I’m successful haha).

So that’s our June bookhaul. Well Candyce’s June bookhaul, haha. Have you read any of the books she got? Or what did you add to your shelves in June? Let us know in the comments! We’d love to hear from you.
