It’s been a while since I did a book tag! But today’s another Thursday and I thought it was time to finally do another tag. I found this fun book tag all about popular fantasy tropes over at Zezee With Books and it was first created by One’s Peculiar. Let’s jump in!

LOST PRINCESS: A BOOK/SERIES YOU LOST INTEREST IN HALFWAY THROUGH

This was a tough one because I don’t like giving up on something. So while I have a ton of series I haven’t finished, I like to think of it as not having finished them YET haha. But I think that the Shatter Me series has to be one I have lost interest in. I thought the main series was okay, loved the fourth book and hated the fifth one. While I might still read Imagine Me because I just need to read that one to finish the series haha, I don’t really have interest in it anymore.

KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR: A HYPED BOOK/SERIES YOU WERE SWEPT UP BY

I love reading comics and everyone had been raving about Saga. So of course I had to pick up that space opera as well. And I fell in love with it! I bought all of the volumes as soon as I could and was left waiting with the rest of you haha. It looks like the hiatus will be over this October and I couldn’t be more excited!

WISE OLD WIZARD: AN AUTHOR WHO AMAZES YOU WITH HIS/HER WRITING

I have to go with V.E. Schwab here. She has such a range, she writes all kinds of different books, genres, age ranges and they are all amazing. I love all that comes out of her mind! She is also a great human being and I had the honor to listen to her talk. Her voice is wonderful and I could just sit there for hours and hours if it was a possibility haha.

MAIDEN IN DISTRESS: AN UNDERVALUED CHARACTER YOU WISH HAD A BIGGER STORY LINE

The first character that comes to mind is Pietyr from the Three Dark Crowns series. I really loved his character and would’ve loved if he had a bigger story line. Overall his story wasn’t super small and maybe did even okay for a supporting character but I still wanted more haha. He was definitely one of my favorites and whenever he was in play I was excited to see what would happen next!

MAGIC SWORD: A MAGICAL ITEM/ABILITY YOU WISH AUTHORS USED LESS

This is a hard one! And I can only come up with one thing, that might not even completely fit here haha. But I’m really done with the ‘mate’ thing. I get that they have some kind of super love but it just seems excessive. And like ‘regular’ love isn’t good enough and that really bothers me somehow. Why do we need some kind of special love for that strong bond? It’s just not for me haha.

MINDLESS VILLAIN: A PHRASE YOU CANNOT HELP BUT ROLL YOUR EYES AT

This has to be ;released a breath they didn’t know they were holding. It’s been used so so so much (especially in YA books) and I just can’t stand it anymore haha. I think a lot of people would go for this one haha.

UNTAMED DRAGON: A MAGICAL CREATURE YOU WISH YOU HAD AS A PET

I have to go with Zezee’s answer here! A teadragon would be wonderful to have. I’m a bit tea lover and those magical leaves seem to be something else <3. While I have only read the first book in this series I can’t wait to get my hands on the next two!

CHOSEN ONE: A BOOK/SERIES YOU WILL ALWAYS ROOT FOR

I will always root for the Lady Janies series, and I’m going to include the Marys in it as well. And hopefully another leading lady after the three Marys! I adore the writing of these three writers together and they come up with the funniest things. They’re upcoming release is one of my most anticipated releases of the year and I hope they’ll continue for a long time.
