Royal Update #56

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

I’ve had wonderful but busy weeks! Around Christmas I had to work a lot and it was extremely busy. But I had so much fun with my colleagues and everyone that came shopping. I was super tired every night when I came home but I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Christmas was wonderful, we spend it with just the four of us. Playing games, eating amazing food, drinking good wine and opening gifts. I got my new favorite parfum, a book, a water flask, a jigsaw puzzle, Animal Crossing and some pieces of my favorite brand of tableware. Gorgeous mugs and some bowls. I’m super happy with everything I got!

New Year’s Eve was very different from how we normally celebrate but I still had a great evening. I went over to a friend’s place, she shares a kind of courtyard with her parents so around 12 we all went outside and warmed ourselves with this fire. We had champagne, marshmallows and great music. So we had a great time! I also wanted to share this super cute fox. Yesterday I had a girl over who I mentor and we started drawing for a bit. I’m pretty proud of my fox haha, and I want to try and do more creative things in 2021.

I’m happy to say I didn’t get any new ARC’s these past two weeks haha. With the chance of repeating myself again, I really plan on focusing on the ARC’s I already have in the coming months. I did make a spreadsheet and I’m currently reading one. Hopefully I can actually do it this year ;).

I finished The Promised Neverland vol 6&7 and the Duke and I. At the moment I’m in the middle of a ton of books haha. But I think the most important ones are my buddyread with Candyce; Letters to the Lost and the eARC I’m finally reading; A Deadly Education. I’m enjoying both and I haven’t really though about my next books yet.

To be honest, I haven’t been really looking at any bookish news the past week. I don’t think there was a lot because of the holidays but I will keep my eye out in the next weeks!

After spending a lot on Christmas gifts the last couple of weeks I try to be a bit more mindful of my spending. Hopefully I can start saving up some money in the coming months!

Two highly anticipated shows released on Netflix the past week and you can bet I spend all of my free time bingeing the shows. Unfortunately I haven’t had that much free time, so I haven’t finished them yet but I also enjoy spending a little bit more time on them. The two shows I’m talking about are of course Bridgerton season 1 and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 4.

Since I discovered it, I have been listening to the time capsule playlist Spotify made. It has been so much fun listening to these songs I haven’t heard in forever. I have been singing along on the top of my lungs haha.

And that was my Royal Update for today, the first one of the year! May it be a wonderful one <3.
