As you all know, besides reading a lot of books we both love watching TV shows. Isabelle talks about them more often than I do, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been watching a ton of series (even though Christmas movies took over my life most of December). Today I’m going to talk about my favorite TV shows in 2020 and next week Isabelle will tell you about hers.
The Baby-Sitters Club
I used to love The Baby-Sitters Club books when I was younger. Even though I never read the all I did love what I read. I even saw they have graphic novels now for the newer generation. This show was really cute and I wen through all of the episodes way too quickly, haha. I’m glad that we’re getting a second season!
Never Have I Ever
I laughed a lot watching Never Have I Ever, but it also had me tearing up quite a few times. It’s interesting to see what it’s like for a first generation Indian American teenage girl combining her culture and family values into the way America sees things as well. I can’t wait for the second season.
A lot of my friends had watched this and were big fans of Sex Education. I can’t imagine what it’s like having your mother be a sex therapist and also having your own issues as well. I love how quirky this show is, but also how much they do tackle important things. The third season will be available soon and it’s unfortunately the last one as well.
I read the books that this series is based on quite awhile and I have to say they kept me on the edge of my seat. Reading and even watching from the stalker’s POV is rather creepy. I’m still on season one, but it’s definitely a show that has me hooked (I just want to do too many things at once). Having some episodes to catch up on until we get new ones isn’t a bad thing.
I’ve watched a few stand-up comedy shows from Gabriel Iglesias and he’s really funny. So far my boyfriend and I have watched all but four episodes of this show. It’s really funny and I love the subjects he teaches to his students. This comedy has some lessons and serious subjects as well. I’m hoping we get more episodes!
I’m a big fan of medical/crime shows and this is kind of two in one. Coroner is a show that went under my radar until I saw commercials on our TV here that they were going to show the first season. Besides dealing with her own grief and everything after her husband’s death she also starts looking into a lot of cases. I need to watch the second season soon.
I love Simon vs. the Homosapiens Agenda and I loved the movie. So when I heard about Love, Victor I needed this show. It was everything I hoped for and I binge-watched the first season. If you’re a fan of Simon than I definitely recommend watching this show. It’s another one that had me laughing, but also crying at times.
These are really the only five series that I started in 2020. A lot of the other things I watch have been running for awhile and aren’t new for me. I didn’t add Dash & Lily or Bridgerton yet, because I still need to give them a go, but I have a feeling they would’ve been on this list as well. What were some of your favorite shows to watch last year? Let me know in the comments!
