It’s been almost a month since the very last episode and now it’s time for me to talk about! Supernatural has ended after 15 seasons. The last half of the final season was postponed because of COVID-19 but this fall season it finally aired. And now it is all done. So let’s talk about it!
Two brothers follow their father’s footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons and gods that roam the earth.
In 2005 the first episode of Supernatural aired. After 327 episodes it all ended in 2020. I truly started watching Supernatural in 2014. Before that I had seen a couple of episodes but that is when I started bingeing all of it. At some point I did catch up with the show and started looking forward to the new episodes each week.
I did start watching this last season but I once again fell behind. However, when I realised there were only two epsiodes left to be aired, I started bingeing the episodes I still needed to watch. So when the last episode aired I just had to watch the last two. And oh my, did I cry! I loved the last three episodes so so much and I can’t believe the show is actually over.
Dean absolutely stole my heart from the moment I started watching the show (sorry, Sam, never liked ‘Dean’ in Gilmore Girls so this Dean always had a head start on you haha). And he went through so much during the last 15 years. All the characters did, and I have cried so many times. We lost almost all of my favorite characters and no one was safe in this last season.
I think the team did an amazing job on this final season. The ending was amazing and exactly what I was hoping for. Not everyone liked it, but I think that is just the burden of such a popular show. You can’t please every fan. I’m just grateful for the show, the stories and everything they gave us. For me this was the perfect ending. And I will definitely be rewatching this show pretty soon.
My favorite things in the show were always the hunts. Yes I enjoyed the overarching plots throughout the seasons, but the simple episodes where Sam and Dean hunt monsters have always been my favorite. The earlier seasons have more of that, and I loved the episodes like that we got in this last season. It’s definitely what I’m looking forward to in my rewatch. I also know I’ve forgotten a ton of details from the show haha. So it will be grate experiencing all of that again.
All in all I don’t have that much to say I realise haha. I just wanted to say I really enjoyed this last season of Supernatural. It is one of my favorite shows and I can’t believe we will never get another new episode. The music is epic and I will never ever forget Sam and Dean and Castiel and Bobby and Crowley and Rowena and Charlie and Jodie and Lucifer and all of the other amazing, interesting, and unforgettable characters.
