We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

I finally have something to talk about besides just working, reading and cuddling with my two cats, haha. Last weekend it was my boyfriend’s mother’s birthday. According to the rules here you can visit someone as long as there aren’t more than 3 people outside of your household. It’s been so long since we’ve seen them and everyone was healthy, so we went over for the afternoon and dinner. It was nice catching up again and hopefully we’ll see them again for my boyfriend’s birthday at the end of the month.

Other than that we finally got our Christmas tree. I love the smell of it and it ended up being bigger than we thought when we were at the store. It looked like a good size, but when we got home it was slightly larger than what we were going for, haha. Oh well, it’s a beautiful tree. The cats are annoying at times with it, but not as bad as last year. And yes, the tree looks a little empty, but our cats like to fish out the ornaments if we add more, haha.

Also, I got my first ever physical ARC from Harper360. I never expected to get one, but I decided to give it a try. This really made me not so great day better and it’s one I’m really looking forward to reading. So keep an eye out for my review!

Normally I talk a little bit about all of the ARCs I receive, but it’s a bit much this time (oops…). There are a few publishers that are really nice to me now on Edelweiss, haha. And all of their books sound interesting, so I couldn’t help but click request. So for now I’ll just show you the books.

Since my last Royal Update I’ve finished Together at Midnight, A Wolf for a Spell, Brave, The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, Stay Gold, The Bitterwine Oath and The Ballad of Ami Miles.

I’m currently reading One Way or Another, The Darkest Star and The Cheerleaders.

This week I’m hoping to start Amari and the Night Brothers and Mind the Gap, Dash & Lily.

I actually remembered to keep track of bookish news this week!! I’m pretty proud of myself, haha. Here are a few book announcements that caught my attention!

I’ve done some shopping these past couple of weeks, but they’re Christmas gifts. So it’s not something I can talk about here on the blog. I don’t want anyone getting a gift from me to know what I bought. It’s still hard to believe there are less than two weeks until Christmas.

Like I talked about last time, I’m re-watching Everwood with the boyfriend. We’re watching the last season now and don’t have many episodes to go. I have to say I remember less about the final season than the first three, haha. We’re thinking about watching The OC next. I only saw the first two season of that I think.

It’s still the season, so I’ve basically only been listening to Christmas music. I just can’t help it and it makes me really happy. The past week I’ve been listening to Kelly Clarkson’s Christmas album.
