TTT #150 | Favorite Covers On My Shelves

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is a cover freebie and I decided to go with my favorite covers on my shelves. I’l admit, this was harder than I anticipated but I did pick 10 (or a bit more) books that have beautiful covers. Let’s jump in!

1.King of Scars – Leigh Bardugo

I could’ve chosen any of the Leigh Bardugo books on my shelves because they are all gorgeous. But I decided to go with King of Scars. I love how the previous stories in the Grishaverse come together and I can’t wait for the sequel. With another stunning cover ;).

2.The Infernal Devices & The Mortal Instruments – Cassandra Clare

I loved these editions so much and I really want to get The Dark Artifices in this same edition. And I won’t be buying The Last Hours books until we get this edition either haha. I just love the look of these spines and I want all of the series in the shadowhunter world in this edition. Hopefully all the books will match eventually.

3. City of Ghosts & Tunnel of Bones – Victoria Schwab

Honestly I could’ve picked any of the Victoria Schwab books I own. I love her covers but this middle grade series has the best covers out of all of them. Red is my favorite color so these have an advantage. But I also love the details in both covers and I’m very excited to get my hands of Bridge of Souls.

4. The Caraval series – Stephanie Garber

While the first book disappointed me a bit, I do love love love these covers. There are multiple editions for all three books but apart from the clock I think these might be my favorites. I have yet to read the second and third book but I do hope to do so this year.

5. The Surface Breaks – Louise O’Neill

I’ve read one Louise O’Neill book before and it destroyed me. It was such a good book and I felt so hopeless and helpless after finishing it. While I haven’t read this book by her yet, I do love the cover a whole lot. The colors and the details show you what you can expect of the story and I can’t wait to see if I was correct in my predictions.

6. The Illuminae Files series – Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman

I love this trilogy and I am so glad I decided to go for the hardcover editions. These book are pretty big but you fly through them. The images on the books look amazing and you get a tiny preview to the concept of the book.

7. Strange the Dreamer – Laini Taylor

While I haven’t read this one yet, I do love looking at the book. This cover is gorgeous and I love the blue they used and the gold foil. I’ve heard great things about this book (a bit less about the sequel but okay) and after I finally finish the last book in the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series I might just pick this one up.

8. The Wrath and the Dawn & The Rose and the Dagger – Renee Ahdieh

For the longest time these were probably my absolute favorite books to look at. I love how they basically did two covers, the first one is the most beautiful one but it reveals something else right behind it. Again, the artist used gorgeous colors and I love the stories this author writes.

9. This is Our Story – Ashley Elston

Ashley worked herself up to a favorite very quickly. I love both of the books I read by her and I adore this cover. It looks pretty simple but there are some really cool details to find in this cover. Once again I love the colors and I think this cover gives off the right vibe for the story inside.

10. The City of Brass & The Kingdom of Copper – S.A. Chakraborty

Look at these last two beauties! Can you believe I still haven’t read them? Because I just can’t haha. I love the cover and the story sounds like I will really enjoy it. Candyce adored these first two books in the series and the third on released not too long ago. Hopefully I can add that one and bingeread the series.

What are some of your favorite covers? And do you agree with my picks? I really liked looking at all my books and picking the most gorgeous ones. Hopefully you had fun reading the post and watching the pictures!

  1. So many beautiful covers! I wasn’t a fan of Caraval either but those editions are gorgeous. The cover of A Surface Breaks is also so pretty and I’m actually hoping to read it next month! 😊
