Tag| 90’s Book Tag Music Edition

Besides reading, I really enjoy listening to music. There’s almost always something playing in the background, even when I’m reading! I saw the 90’s Book Tag Music Edition on Ellie’s blog Read to Ramble. I wasn’t tagged, but it looked like so much fun I decided to tag myself! So let’s take a look at the different prompts for this tag.

The 90’s Book Tag Music Edition was originally created by Jemma from What Reading Does and Milly from A Books Neverland.

What’s My Age Again – Blink 182
What age did you discover your love of reading?

I’ve always loved reading. My mother read to me every night starting at a very young age. I remember the Disney books that you had to click on buttons that made noise during the story. Berestain Bears were a favorite as well.

All Star – Smash Mouth
What’s your favorite genre?

My favorite genre is contemporary. I love stories that leave me with a big smile on my face after reading. And even the ones that make me really feel something. I love when authors are able to do that. Fantasy is another favorite. Being able to dive into a different world where the impossible can happen!

Breakfast at Tiffany’s – Deep Blue Something
What is your go to reading snack/drink (or just your favorite)?

If I have it my way and the weather isn’t too warm, my go to reading snack and drink are tea and chocolate. Or some type of baked good. Those are definitely elements to a perfect reading day.

Give It Away – Red Hot Chili Peppers
What book do you ALWAYS recommend to people?

I’ll always recommend The Exact Opposite of Okay! I loved every minute of that book even when it wasn’t the easiest book to read. The author did an amazing job approaching a subject that’s unfortunately something that continues to happen. Luckily there are some laugh out loud moments as well!

…Baby One More Time – Britney Spears
A book or series you have read more than once?

I’m definitely a fan of rereading books. It’s something I’m really trying to do more often. Even though I feel guilty about all of the unread books on my shelf, haha. Throne of Glass is a series I’ve read more than once. I love the new things I keep discovering. My most recent reread is Wicked by Jennifer L. Armentrout!

Tearin’ Up My Heart – N’Sync
A book that broke your heart to finish?

I definitely shed quite a few tears while reading. One ugly cry book for me was The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros. I’m so glad that I didn’t read that while on my commute to work. That would’ve been very interesting, haha.

Crush – Jennifer Paige
Who was your first bookish crush?

I have to say fictional crushes weren’t really for me until I got to Twilight. It was definitely a war between Team Jacob and Edward, haha. With Midnight Sun just recently being published part of me wants to reread this series. See how it stands up for me now that I’ve read so much since then!

Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvana
A book that you read as a teen that you still love today?

There was a time during my teens that I really didn’t read that much. And I don’t really remember what I did read. I know I really enjoyed Jill Mansell books in my late teens. And that Shopaholic series. I definitely see myself still enjoying those!

Doing this tag brought back so many memories, I just had to listen to all of these songs. What were some of your 90’s favorites? I’m not going to tag anyone, but if you love 90’s songs, then you’re tagged. Let me know if you do this tag, I’d love to see your answers.
