We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!
These past two weeks haven’t been really busy. I’ve mostly just been working and relaxing. Also getting a lot of stuff done for TBR and Beyond Tours. We have some amazing tours coming, so if you’re a blogger, I suggest checking us out! Besides work I’ve been cuddling with the cats and trying to stay cool. We have our first heatwave here right now and I’ll be glad when it’s over in a few days. I don’t like this heat.
I haven’t been doing great about minimizing the amount of ARCs I except and read. Oops! There have just been a lot of amazing books recently and tours coming that I can’t resist!
The Reality of Everything – Rebecca Yarros Anything Rebecca Yarros gives us, is something I need to read! I know she breaks my heart everytime, but I can’t wait to read this!
Back to Shore – Taylor Danae Colbert Another author that I need to read everything from. Taylor is good at emotional book and I have a feeling this one is going to be very intense.
The Quiet You Carry & Quiet No More – Nikki Barthelmess Contemporary is my go to genre and these sound amazing. I know they won’t be easy to read, but those tend to be the best books!
Furia – Yamile Saied Mendez Algonquin Young Readers contacted me and asked if I wanted to be on the blog tour for Furia. The book sounds amazing, so I couldn’t resist!
Crown of Bones – A.K. Wilder This is a 2021 release, but this gorgeous cover caught my attention. After reading the blurb, I knew I just had to request it.
The Beast and the Bethany – Jack Meggitt-Phillips I’ve been reading some amazing middle grade books this year and this sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to dive in this adventure.
I Am Here Now – Barbara Bottner This year I read my first book in verse. I really enjoyed this experience and I Am Here Now sounds like it’s going to be good as well.
The Inheritance Games – Jennifer Lynn Barnes I’ve been looking forward to this book since I heard about it. I love mysteries and puzzles and have a feeling this is going to be an exciting read.
Since the last time I did my Royal Update I’ve read: Shielded, The Ship of Shadows, The Diviners, #famous, Wicked, Well Met, A Wicked Magic, Slay, The Lightning Thief and That Swoony Feeling.
I’m currently reading Where Dreams Descend, Small Spaces, Serpent & Dove, Thorn and Four Days of You and Me.
This week I’ll be starting Back to Shore, Leo, One to Watch and The Henna Wars. I may start more, but it depends on where the week takes me.
If I’m honest, I haven’t been on the laptop a lot this week and when I am, it’s mostly been to write a couple posts or do the tour stuff. So I only collected two bookish news items this week. It’s just been too warm to sit behind the laptop for a long time.
I’ve once again been a good girl and haven’t bought anything these past two weeks, haha. It helps that with everything going on, I don’t go out that often!
Hamilton has been on Disney+ since the beginning of July, but I just hadn’t made time to sit down and watch it. Last week I finally did and I was so impressed. I loved every minute of this Broadway show and I know I’ll be watching again.
As I just said, I finally watched Hamilton. I’ve been addicted to the soundtrack since I watched it. These songs are just so amazing.
So that was my update for this week! How have you been? Read anything interesting? I’d love to chat with you!
