Royal Update #32

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

Life has been a lot of the same still, haha. I feel like I’m constantly repeating myself when it comes to my life updates. Work, blogging, reading and an occasional fun game day with friends online or at their house! And cuddling with the cats of course.

Besides that I’ve added another fun project to my life. As many of you know I’m a moderator in the Facebook group TBR and Beyond. It’s so much fun discussing books with the members and have group reads. They’re definitely the best and I love the team! The creators of the group have decided to start their own book tour company and I’ve been asked to be part of the team. I’m so excited! Click on the banner to go to the website and find out more!

Okay, the ARCs I’ve received over the past two weeks aren’t near as many as I added in my previous Royal Update, haha. To start off today’s post, I was granted a wish on Netgalley (that I completely forgot about) and two books were read now that look really interesting!

MIstletoe and Mr. Right – Sarah Morgenthaler We’re halfway through the year and I’ve noticed that Netgalley is filling with Christmas books. I love holiday related books and honestly forgot I hit wish for it for Mistletoe and Mr. Right. I love feelgood Christmas books!

Fable – Adrienne Young I hear nothing but amazing things about Adrienne Young’s writing. I have two of her books and Fable looks amazing. I grabbed this when it was Read Now and am really excited!

Goblin King – Kara Barbieri Okay, so I haven’t read White Stag but it’s another book I’ve heard amazing things about. I’m hoping while grabbing Goblin King while it’s Read Now that I’ll make sure to read White Stag soon.

Besides these three Netgalley books, I received a few ARCs for some upcoming blog tours and releases of from an author I’ve read for before.

Confessions of a Bookaholic – Joslyn Westbrook I am still so sad about this cover! Confessions of a Bookaholic sounds like such an amazing story, but I can’t stand this cover. I’m sorry, but it makes this book look cheap. I’m really hoping the story doesn’t reflect it.

Engagement and Espionage – Penny Reid The Winston Brothers series was a lot of fun and this is the first book in the spinoff series. Engagement and Espionage is a cozy mystery and I definitely am looking forward to it.

The Queen – Jennifer L. Armentrout After the way these novellas keep ending, I’ve been impatiently awaiting the arrival of The Queen!!

How to Date a Younger Man – Kendall Ryan We’re getting the next book from Kendall Ryan after she finished the Hot Jock series. Sleeping with your best friend’s younger brother doesn’t sound like the best idea. I have a feeling this book is going to be filled with humor and some awkward moments.

Quarter Miles – Devney Perry After finishing Wild Highway, the main character in Quarter Miles definitely needs her happily ever after. I know this is going to be a fun one to read!

Since my last Royal Update I’ve finished the following books: Girl, Serpent, Thorn, In the Role of Brie Hutchens, Wild Highway, Giant Days Vol. 6, Shot on Goal (Love Under Lockdown Anthology), Mayhem, The Unhoneymooners, Late to the Party, Love Creekwood, Carry On, The Bridge Kingdom and My Calamity Jane.

I’m currently reading You Should See Me in a Crown, The Iron King, B*Witch, The Jumbies and Thomas Wildus and the Book of Sorrows.

This week I’ll be picking up The Diviners, Wicked, The Confessions of a Bookaholic, The Queen and Shielded.

There were so many cover reveals this week, so I won’t show them all. Here are a few that look really interesting to me. I’m always surprised how many books get published.

I finally have something to add to my Shop Log again. As I mentioned earlier, I’m going to be helping out with the TBR and Beyond Tours company. Blogging, TBR and Beyond group and now these tours, I’m really going to have to keep track of my to do lists. I kept a bullet journal for awhile, but haven’t had a lot of motivation to continue with that. So I bought this planner and I forgot how satisfying it is to cross things off a to do list!

Isabelle has been telling me how good 9-1-1 is! I watched the spinoff 9-1-1 Lonestar and loved it so much, I knew I needed to start the original show. It’s intense and so addicting. As I’m typing this I just started the third season.

I was watching something recently and heard a Sia song. So that made me want to continue listening and that’s been on my playlist the last few days.

So that’s my update for this week! How have you been? Read anything interesting lately? Let me know in the comments!
