It’s tag time again and when I was looking for a new tag to do, I didn’t have to look far. I was tagged by KBBookreviews and _ForBooksSake (definitely check out these bloggers, they’re both amazing!!) to do The Coffee Book Tag! This tag looked like a lot of fun, but it’s an interesting choice, because I don’t like coffee, haha. I’m probably outnumbered by the amount of people who do like coffee, but that’s okay. Let’s check out what this tag is all about!
Black: Name a series that’s tough to get into, but has hardcore fans.
Wow, this is a tough question! I’ll have to go with Gideon the Ninth. This book wasn’t my cup of tea (I know it’s a coffee tag, haha), but I know there are a lot of people who LOVED this book! It’s only the first book, but there are some hardcore fans. I just couldn’t get into this story and am pretty bummed about it, because those covers are stunning!
Peppermint Mocha: Name a book that gets more popular during the winter or festive time of year.
I think it’s funny, because both of the bloggers that nominated me, also chose Harry Potter for this question. I’ll read these books at any time, but during the winter/festive season, these books are the best! Harry Potter always makes me feel warm and cozy and perfect for that time of year!
Hot Chocolate: What is your favorite children’s book?
Middle grade books have really been becoming interesting to me and I’ve read a lot of good ones. If I have to choose a favorite at the moment, I definitely have to say Nevermoor! The first two books in this series are amazing. I know a lot of people think it’s a copy of Harry Potter, but that’s not true at all. It gives the same vibes, but it’s totally unique! Nevermoor and Wundersmith were both amazing!
Double Shot of Espresso: Name a book that kept you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
This has happened with a lot of books, so I’ll have to go with a more recent read. I finished From Blood and Ash a few days ago and this was such a roller coaster. It sucked me in and just won’t let me go. My full review will be posted once I can actually put my thoughts into words.
Starbucks: Name a book you see everywhere.
Oh, this could be a ton of different books. I’ll choose Aurora Rising for now. Which is completely understandable, because the sequel just came out last week. This is another book I recently finished and can tell you it’s worth the hype! I’ll be starting Aurora Burning soon!!
That Hipster Coffee Shop: Give a book by an Indie author a shout-out.
I’ve been fortunate to meet a lot of indie authors and I can tell you that they’re all amazing. I want to give a shout out to LJ Evans though. Her newest book, Avenged by Love, is so good. Then again, all of her books are. I actually recently posted an interview with her on the blog. Click here to read the interview. She’s so sweet!
Oops! I Accidentally Got Decaf: Name a book you were expecting more from.
I’ll stick with more recent reads again. Yesterday I finished All the Stars and Teeth. I loved the concept, setting and writing style, but the execution just didn’t work for me. I was really looking forward to this book, so I was pretty disappointed. Also, I just couldn’t connect with the main character. That definitely doesn’t help. My full review will be posted soon!
The Perfect Blend: Name a book or series that has both bitter and sweet but is ultimately satisfying.
The Titan series by Jennifer L. Armentrout is bitter and sweet, but luckily still a bit satisfying. After the Covenant series, I was really looking forward to Seth’s spinoff. Most of it was good and I loved the banter and romance, but the last book was really disappointing!
So that was the Coffee Book Tag. If you’re interested in this one, I tag you! A lot of people have already been tagged, so whoever is up for it, definitely participate. Make sure to let me know if you do the tag though. I love seeing other people’s answers! Do you like coffee? How do you drink it?
