We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!
I wish I could tell you things were getting back to normal and I had an interesting couple of weeks, but that’s not the case unfortunately. I went back to work last week and have been reading a lot! That’s the only thing going really well, haha. Staying at home is really helping my reading. I’m 32 books ahead of schedule.
Unfortunately, I still can’t say I haven’t received any ARCs in the last two weeks. Maybe one day I’ll learn. Since the last time I added the following ARCs to my Kindle:
Charlie – Jennifer Hanks This is the final book in the DiMarcos series and I’m so excited, but a bit sad. This series has been amazing and believe me when I say you want to join this crazy and amazing family!
The Teaching Hours – Sara Ney This novella was originally in the Team Player 2 anthology and is being published on its own now. The How to Date a Douchebag series has been fun, so I can’t wait to read this.
Fae’s Defiance – M. Lynn & Melissa A. Craven I only recently finished the first book in this trilogy, Fae’s Deception, and I can’t wait to see how it’s all going to play out. The first book was a really fun read!
Unsupervised – S.M. Shade Unsupervised is the first book in the spinoff series after the last book in the Violent Circle series. S.M. Shade always makes me laugh and creates characters you can’t help but love.
Netgalley was also kind to me a couple of times and I’ve gotten two ARCs from there:
Camp – Lev A.C. Rosen I still haven’t read Jack of Hearts (and other parts), but this author is back with another book that sounds really interesting. Camp seems like the perfect summer read and something I’ll love.
The Damned – Renee Ahdieh Okay, now I really need to read The Beautiful, haha. I actually started this one awhile ago, but was distracted by other books. I know I’ll love it though. The Damned is the sequel and will be releasing soon. The covers are stunning!
Shielded – KayLynn Flanders An author was asking for bloggers to help her promote her debut book this July. This book sounds amazing and I recently received my Netgalley widget.
Date Me, Bryson Keller – Kevin Whye I had to request this after seeing this part of the synopsis: What If It’s Us meets To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before in this upbeat and heartfelt boy-meets-boy romance that feels like a modern twist on a ’90s rom-com!
I’ve been in such a good reading flow the last few weeks. Since my last Royal Update I’ve finished the following books: Lifel1k3 (re-read), Dev1at3, The Black Witch (re-read), The Burning Sky, Sawkill Girls, Aurora Burning, Goodbye from Nowhere, Wild for You, Every Heart a Doorway, Aru Shah and the Song of Death, Aru Shah and the Tree of Wishes, Lethal Queen Bee, Fae’s Deception, Fae’s Defiance, Red White and Royal Blue (re-read), Dear Sweet Pea, Heavy Vinyl Vol.1 and Fence Vol. 2.
At the moment I’m currently reading Avenged by Love, From Blood & Ash, Don’t Tell Him I’m a Mermaid and Down Among the Sticks and Bones.
I also hope to start reading the following books this week Harrow Lake, The Teaching Hours, Stone Princess, All the Stars and Teeth, Crown of Feathers and Charlie.
Today I have a couple of new covers, some book announcements and even a movie deal to share with you!
I finally have something to show you again! For the past few months I’ve been using the boyfriend’s laptop to get my blogging done. My laptop was really old and took over a half an hour just to start up and be ready to use. This week I got my vacation money from my job and decided to invest in a new laptop. So I’ll now be bringing you my posts from this one! I’m so happy with it!
I haven’t watched a lot these last two weeks. I’ve been reading a lot! I did play catch up with Chicago Fire and Chicago PD. I love these shows and how they all come together (I was already caught up with Chicago Med).
I love the TV show Glee and recently saw on Facebook that there was a Glee Hits playlist on Spotify. I’ve been listening to it ever since.
So that’s it for me this week! How have you been? Read any good books lately? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to chat.
