Last Friday, April 3rd, it was finally time! La Casa de Papel part 4 dropped on Netflix. And you can bet I dropped everything and watched the whole thing in one day haha. Of course I want to talk to you all, because oh my those 8 episodes…. Let’s get into it!
A group of unique robbers assault the Factory of Moneda and Timbre to carry out the most perfect robbery in the history of Spain and take home 2.4 billion euros.
Since I’m talking about the fourth part there will be spoilers for the first three parts. If you haven’t watched the show yet please do. It’s amazing! If you haven’t watched the fourth part yet, go ahead and watch the trailer!
As I said, I flew through this part in no time at all. We get 8 episodes and most of them are 45 minutes long. The first and last episode are both about an hour long. That makes for 6,5 hours of suspense!
We start the first episode exactly where we left after part 3. The show keeps it’s original format so we keep going back and forth in time. We see something happening during the heist and then get a (usually related) flashback. Through this format you get to know the characters a lot better and I have to say I adore them so much.
The first two episodes were good, but didn’t have anything super special for me. I was wondering of the big twists and the suspense were gone in this newest part. But I couldn’t have been more wrong! There were once again so many twists I didn’t see coming. The writers come up with some fantastic scenarios and solutions for our robbers. Especially during the last two or three episodes I was on the edge of my seat.
There was one scene that had me sobbing. I was trying to keep my tears at bay but I just couldn’t! It was a heartbreaking scene and I think that character deserved so much more. I won’t say much else but you’ll probably know what I mean if you watched the show. The characters are possibly the best part of the show, although the twists concerning the heist are great as well, and we get to meet a cool new character as well. I also got a new appreciation for some of the characters we already knew. And am even more disgusted by others!
It seems like there will be a part 5 (and possibly part 6) but I can’t find anything official. I will say the season ended very differently from what I expected. And I’m pretty sure, or at least hoping, there will be a new part. Let’s hope it’s sooner than later haha. I think this was a great part and I’m so glad they didn’t stop after the succes of the first two parts. If we do get a new part, I have some wishes haha. Do you watch La Casa de Papel? And do you agree with me? Come talk to me in the comments!
