Bookish Item | The Forgotten TBR Challenge

I pick up books only to put them down before ending them all the time. So I have quite some half read books and that needs to change haha. The quarantine seems like the perfect time to read all those forgotten books. I’m challenging myself to read (or officially DNF) all these book before the Corona crisis is done. Assuming it’s going to be at least two more months haha. So let’s see which books are on my pile of forgotten books!

Godsgrave – Jay Kristoff

I plan on reading this one for the O.W.L.’s so I hope to read it this month. The first book was amazing and I’m not sure why I didn’t immediately continue with the rest of the series haha. I liked what I read so far and I can’t wait to dive back in.

Five Dark Fates – Kendare Blake

I was actually pretty far along in this conclusion to one of my favorite series. The first three books were great and I’m so sad I haven’t finished the series yet. I don’t have a clue how Kendare is going to end this series, fingers crossed the end lives up to the rest of the story.

A Curse So Dark and Lonely – Brigid Kemmerer

Everyone was raving about this one last year. And I did start reading it but I wasn’t sucked in right away. I hope I will enjoy it more when I continue reading the book but this might be a DNF for me.

Hunted – Megan Spooner

I enjoyed Candyce in a buddyread for this one but I only got a couple of chapters in. This is a Beauty and the Beast retelling so I have been looking forward to it for quite awhile. I don’t have really high hopes anymore though, let’s hope I enjoy it!

Crown of Conspiracy – Kara S. Weaver

Kara is a friend of mine and I can’t believe I still haven’t read her book. I do already own the sequel so I can continue as soon as I finish this one. The reviews have been great and I quite liked what I read so far. It’s scary to read something a friend wrote though!

The Belles – Dhonielle Clayton

Another buddyread! Candyce is so much better at them than I am, because she once again did finished the book. There have been a lot of mixed reviews but I’m eager to form my own opinion.

A Curious Beginning -Deanna Raybourn

We did a buddyread with a big group from TBR and Beyond, but I was reading to much at the time and did finish this one. I didn’t get in that far but the synopsis still sounds like something I would highly enjoy. Can’t wait to get back to this one!

Otherworld – Jason Segel & Kristen Miller

Anddd another buddyread haha. Candyce and I were using this one for a project we still need to continue. I really enjoyed that project and can’t wait to get back to it!

A Girl Called Shameless – Laura Steven

I love Laura and I loved the first book in this duology. It was one of my absolute favorite books of 2018. I was already laughing out loud within the first chapter of A Girl Called Shameless so I’m sure I’ll fly through this one as well.

Gideon the Ninth – Tamsyn Muir

Can you guess it? Yes, another buddyread. Candyce actually didn’t like this one at all and that’s part of why I haven’t continued with it yet. I really liked what I read so far but there were a ton of negative reviews. Let’s hope I enjoy it more!

The Girl King – Mimi Yu

Candyce and I did yet another buddy read, this one was January last year I believe. While Candyce finished and enjoyed the book, I put it down in favor of something else.

Lud-in-the-Mist – Hope Mirrlees

I started this one quite a while ago and I’ll probably start over. It’s an adult fantasy and I’ve been reading a lot more of those lately. This one got amazing reviews and seems to be a bit of a classic.

Do you have any books you started but never finished? I would love to see your Forgotten TBR! Talk to me in the comments or write your own blogpost and tag me!

  1. I don’t dare to create a list because there isn’t enough room on my website to post an article like that hahaha. There are way too many books on my tbr that I haven’t really forgotten but just haven’t gotten around to read yet and which I’ve owned for years. So sad really, lol.
