We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is The Last Ten Books That Gave Me a Book Hangover, however I don’t really get book hangovers so there’s no way I’m going to name 10 books. I decided to pick another topic and was inspired by Jana’s love freebie last week. She did 10 Books On My TBR With the Word LOVE In It because of Valentine’s and I’m doing the same this week!
1.Love Letters to the Dead – Ava Dellaira
I’ve had this one on my TBR for quite some time now! At this point I’m not sure if I’ll ever pick it up even though I’m still interested. I just hardly ever crave hard hitting contemporary so it has to be a very special circumstance for me to pick it up. And since I’m running out of bookshelf space quickly this might be on the nomination to get unhauled.
2.The Game of Love and Death – Martha Brockenbrough
I don’t own a copy of this one but I am super interested in it! This is a historical story with a bit of a fantasy twist. Love and Death are actual beings and have been playing a game for centuries. They selected two new players to see if Death once again wins. This premise just sounds amazing to me!
3.The Love That Split the World – Emily Henry
I have to admit, I got this beautiful hardcover with two other hardcovers I bought from someone. And since then I never really felt the urge to pick this up. The synopsis doesn’t really interest me but it does get quite high ratings. Since I already own it, I might do another try a chapter tag with it.
4.Lucky in Love / Love, Life and the List – Kasie West
I really like Kasie West YA contemporaries. They”re what I qualify as fluffy contemporaries and every now and then that’s exactly what I need! I always say I’m not a big contemporary reader but I do enjoy the occasional YA fluffy contemporary. Kasie West writes easy but cute and fun stories you can relax with.
5.The Game Can’t Love You Back – Karole Cozzo
Unfortunately this seems like a very underrated book! It’s a YA sports romance and I do really like those. You can already predict where the story is taking you, but I do like to enjoy the ride there. This is one of those fluffy romances I enjoy every now and then but it has the added bonus of a sports element!
6.Give the Dark My Love – Beth Revis
I already read the first chapter and I should just get back to it. There have been many instances where I wanted to pick this up. I love the title, the cover looks great and the synopsis sounds right up my alley. Just a couple of my Goodreads friends read it and they all gave it 3-4 stars, but I have a feeling this might be a 4,5-5 star read for me!
7.The Lovely and the Lost – Jennifer Lynn Barnes
As you might know, Jennifer Lynn Barnes is one of my favorite and most read authors. And this is one of the only books by her I haven’t read yet. Somehow, it’s also the first book by her I got a physical copy of haha. I have most of hers as an ebook and a couple of audiobooks. But I finally have a physical copy and I hope I’ll love it as much as I loved her other books!
8.The Love Hypothesis – Laura Steven
I adore Laura’s The Exact Opposite of Okay and I think this could be another hit. Laura is a super sweet human and I think her writing is hilarious. This synopsis sounds wonderful and I think it will be super funny. Also, look how colorful that cover is!
9.Grim Lovelies – Megan Shepherd
Look at that gorgeous cover! I didn’t really like this authors previous book and I’ve heard some mixed things about this one. But it was super cheap (like €2 for the hardcover) and I do think the synopsis sounds interesting enough. For that kind of money I just can’t help myself 😉
10.An Assassin’s Guide to Love and Treason – Virginia Boecker
I got this in the same sale as Grim Lovelies but don’t like the cover as much haha. This is a historical YA and I don’t read nearly enough of those. I used to read quite a lot historical stories but haven’t been doing so for the last couple of years. This premise sounds like a lot of fun to me and I hope it will live up to my expectations!
So these were 10 of the books with the word love in the title I have on my TBR. Have you read any of these? Do you I should pick them up soon or can I skip them? Let me know in the comments!
