Tag | The Book Sacrifice Tag

I was looking for a fun tag to do when I came across the Book Sacrifice Tag and I thought it sounded like a really fun tag! It’s a pretty short one but it comes with some brutal choices πŸ˜‰ I found it on Youtube, over at Ariel Bissett‘s channel. And I’m pretty sure she’s the creator. So let’s get into it!

It’s simple! Choose a book that you are willing to sacrifice in each scenario!

1) An Over-Hyped book: Let’s start this off with a Zombie Apocalypse! Let’s say you’re in a book store, just browsing, when BAM! ZOMBIE ATTACK. An announcement comes over the PA System saying that the military has discovered that the zombies’ only weakness is over-hyped books. What book that everyone else says is amazing but you really hated do you start chucking at the zombies knowing that it will count as an over-hyped book and successfully wipe them out?!

I think I’m going with The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon for this one! A lot of people seem to really love this series and can’t wait for the new books to come out. While I did enjoy this first book in the series, I gave it 3 stars, I can’t say I really loved it. To me it’s pretty overhyped if I’m being honest. The series has some interesting concepts but I did not care for the romance at all. So I wouldn’t mind throwing this one at a zombie haha.

2) A Sequel: Let’s say you’ve just left the salon with a SMASHING new haircut and BOOM: Torrential downpour. What sequel are you willing to use as an umbrella to protect yourself?

Defy Me by Tahereh Mafi! That was a very easy choice haha. I was pleasantly surprised by Restore Me and I was really looking forward to Defy Me. Unfortunately Defy Me was a big let down. This was one of my least favorite books of 2019 actually. We got a ton of flashbacks and not that much of a plot so I would definitely save my smashing new haircut over this sequel haha.

3) A Classic: Let’s say you’re in a lecture and your English teacher is going on and on about how this classic changed the world, how it revolutionized literature and you get so sick of it that you chuck the classic right at his face because you know what? This classic is stupid and it’s worth detention just to show everyone how you feel! What Classic did you chuck?

I don’t really read classics haha. In high school we did read a couple of classics for our English class and I guess the one I liked least was To Kill a Mockingbird so I’ll go for that one! I would never throw a book at a teacher though so I’m pretty sure this is the least likely scenario haha. Yes, I’m expecting zombies before I think I will throw a book at a teacher πŸ˜‰

4) Your least favourite book of life!: Let’s say that you’re hanging out at the library when BAM global warming explodes and the world outside becomes a frozen wasteland. You’re trapped and your only chance for survival is to burn a book. What is the book you first run to, your least favourite book of all life, what book do you not fully regret lighting?

Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke would go up in flames in a heartbeat! I did not care for this one at all. It was pretty popular in the Netherlands for a bit after it got featured in a book box. Unfortunately I basically hated it haha. Nothing in this book made sense, I hated the ending and I didn’t care for any of the characters. The only reason I would hesitate is because of the beautiful cover haha.

And now it’s up to you! Which books would you sacrifice in these scenarios? Let me know in the comments down below!
