TTT #112 | Backlist Books I Own and Still Need to Read

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Favorite Books I Read In 2019. I will be choosing something different though, because Isabelle and I have a lot of favorite lists coming your way this week. So today I’m going to talk about Backlist Books I Own and Still Need to Read. This is something I really need to concentrate on in 2020, so let’s take a look at ten of these books.

Frost Like Night I read the sequel in this trilogy at the beginning of this year, but somehow I didn’t manage to finish this trilogy like I planned. This will definitely be on the top of my list before I end up forgetting all the important details in the second book.

The Return The Convenant series was one that I loved and I own all four books in the spinoff series. The Return is the first book and it’s been calling to me. A friend of mine is now finishing Convenant, so we’re going to buddy read these four books!

A Girl Called Shameless I’m actually ashamed I haven’t read this one yet, haha. The Exact Opposite of Okay is definitely a favorite of mine and I was only reminded of that after my reread a few months ago. This author is releasing a new book in 2020, so I need to read this one before that one comes our way.

Renegades Another book I’ve put on multiple lists stating I need to read it, haha. I actually received the third and final book in the trilogy for Christmas, so I think I need to actually sit down and give it a go. I’ve heard a lot of amazing things, so hopefully I really love it!

The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue The author recently announced there is going to be a third book in this series and it reminded me I still haven’t gotten around to reading these. Yet again, these are books that I’ve heard amazing things about. I just really need more time to read, haha.

The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle Isabelle will agree with me on this one. I remember she read this one and really loved it. I want to read more bigger books next year and The Seven Deaths has been on my bookshelf for quite some time. I’m really hoping I love it!

Passenger This is a book that’s been on my shelves for almost two years. In all honesty, I completely forgot about this duology. I know it’s one that you either love or hate, so I’m curious to see where I will end up. The covers are gorgeous though, so I’m really hoping I love them!

Bad Blood I am determined to finish this series in 2020! I’ve read the first three books and only have this and a novella to go. Why I haven’t finished yet is a mystery to me, because I’ve loved all three of the books I’ve read. Maybe I just don’t want it to end?!?

These Broken Stars Yet again another trilogy that’s been on my shelf for way too long! I’d say for about three years now. Oops! These covers are gorgeous and I’ve heard a lot of positive reviews, so I’m determined to read these!

The Hating Game I am kind of worried about reading this one. I added it to my wishlist, because a lot of people were really positive about this story. A few of my friends have read it since then and weren’t as positive. They tend to know my taste in books, so I’m definitely going to read it, but I’m not going in with high expectations!

So those are ten backlist books I really need to read in 2020! Hopefully I’ll be able to say I’ve read every single one of them. Which one should I start with? I’d also love to read your top ten tuesday about your 2019 favorites or anything else. Feel free to leave your link in the comments!

  1. I really enjoyed The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue (like everyone seems to do). It was just a really fun adventure type story with such likable characters. I’m sure you’ll love it. I also still want to read the 7 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle sometime soon. Good luck with all of these and I wish you a very lovely 2020 full of amazing reads!
