Unboxing| Illumicrate – In Search Of Doors

If you’ve been following us for a little while, you know I’ve gotten the Illumicrate a few times this year. I love their boxes and they’re not too expensive either. Their November box In Search of Doors, originally sold out before I could get my hands on one, but a friend of mine was able to grab one for me when the last few became available.

I received my box at the end of last week and want to show everyone what’s inside. If you don’t want to read any spoilers, stop reading now. If you want to know what’s inside, keep on reading!

As always the box starts out with a spoiler card. Inside we can read who made the items and in some cases, you can figure out what series something is from. I never look at that until after opening everything though!

Myths and Tales Ceramic Book Pot
Designed by: Chatty Nora (@chattynora)

I really like this item. The ceramic book pot is sturdy and pretty book. I will definitely be putting this on my bookshelf to store my bookmarks! I use a mug now, but this seems to be more fitting, haha.

Night Circus Ticket Key Ring
Designed by: Dust & Pages (@dustandpages)

This key ring is actually pretty heavy and I love this design! I haven’t read The Night Circus yet, but I do own the book. It’s a book I’ve heard amazing things about, so having this makes me want to read it soon. Look how pretty it is.

The Archived Key Necklace
Designed by: Fable & Black (@fableandblack)

V.E. Schwab is becoming a favorite author of mine, so I’m happy to have this bookish item. I haven’t read The Archived yet, but this definitely made me add it to the list of books I need to get my hands on. The quote on the key is also pretty interesting:

” Everything is full of history.”

Wardrobe Wooden Pin
Designed by: Hannah Hitchman (@hannahhitchmanart)

Narnia is definitely a favorite of mine. I know plenty of people who’d love to take a step through that wardrobe, myself included. I love pins and this will definitely go on the strip of leather I have on one of my bookcases for these types of bookish items!

The Starless Sea Bookmark
Official artwork by: Richard Merritt

Apparently there were three possible designs to receive in your box and this is the one I got. Apparently it’s my clue to the ancient library in The Starless Sea. Which of course, is the books this month (it was announced awhile ago). I don’t know if I’ll actually use this one, but it’s pretty!

Hogwarts Booksleeve
Artwork by: Pauhami (@pauhami)

I knew there was going to be an item based on Harry Potter and I was very excited when I saw this booksleeve. Reading about the first years going to the castle is always one of my favorite parts, so I am so happy with this. It’s really big and sturdy to, so the perfect kind of booksleeve.

The Starless Sea – Erin Morgenstern

Like I already said, I knew this book was going to be this month’s book. I am also very happy we got this cover, because I really don’t careĀ  for the UK cover. It was really surprising this book didn’t come with a dust jacket though. All in all, still a gorgeous version of this book with light blue sprayed edges.

So that was Illumicrate’s In Search of Doors box. What do you think? I really love the book sleeve and I have to say that’s my favorite item. I won’t be getting December’s box, but January has an interesting theme that’s making me want to buy it! Do you buy book boxes? Any special ones?

  1. It is a bit weird that the book didn’t come with a dust jacket? I wonder why they did that. The books sleeve is amazing tho!!
