Earlier this year I enjoyed Baby Mine and Baby Yours. Now Kennedy Fox has started the next Roommate Duet. The first one, Truly Mine, is now available for all of us to read! A big thanks to the authors and WIldfire Marketing Solutions for providing me with an ARC to read and review. Let’s take a look at what I thought about this book.
After really enjoying Baby Mine and Baby Yours, I was shocked that I love Truly Mine even more. I was sucked into this story from the start and couldn’t put it down. I needed to know what was happening and how it would all turn out. Once again, Kennedy Fox used a dual POV and I love that. I can get a glimpse of what both characters are thinking and feeling. My favorite part was that the story doesn’t start right away. We get glimpses months before everything gets nuts.
Normally slowburn and angsty romances really bug me, but Kennedy Fox wrote Mason and Sophie’s story in such a way that I just needed more. These characters felt so real and some of their problems were really realistic, so that made it just a little more intense.
After their hookup at the bar, Mason and Sophie are shocked to find out their circles know each other. That makes things a bit awkward and Mason isn’t looking for trouble. It’s clear there is something there, but he won’t act on it. They try and be friends, but there’s no way to get rid of the attraction.
Both Mason and Sophie work had at their dreams and make sure they can do what they love. Mason wanting to be a foresics investigator was really interesting and definitely made me curious. I love crime shows, so that’s not surprising. Sophie loves music and playing her violin for a living is not something many people get to do. I almost wished we got some music with this book.
Truly Mine also gives us glimpses of Lennon and Hunter and I loved how that was weaved into this story. This book is full of healing, second chances, secrets, family, amazing characters, humor and even some romance! That ending left me trying to tap on my Kindle for more, haha. I’m so glad we don’t have to wait very long for the next installment!
I just didn’t realize how much.
As my world spirals out of control, he continues to stay by my side, protecting and taking care of me.
Being just friends is all he’s been able to offer, that is until both of our lives are threatened. Now that our relationship is blossoming into something more, I can’t be what he needs even if I wished I could.
Bad timing strikes again.
When I think we can finally be together, someone threatens to tear us apart. I’m not the same girl Mason met three years ago, but I’m determined to fight for what I’ve always wanted…him.
