Looking Back At Our Bookhauls | July 2018

We’re loving this post every month, although its also a kinda scary moment every single time haha. With all the books we buy we have quite the collection, but we also have a LOT of unread books. So the question remains, did we read the books we bought a year ago? Let’s take a look at another Looking Back at Our Bookhauls from July 2018!

Last month I did really good reading 3 out of the 4 books I had gotten in June. Looking at my haul from July last year I’ve really failed, haha. I bought 3 books and received 3 from a swap and I haven’t read a single one of these. Oops!! I need to get working on this one.

One Small Thing – Erin Watt

38128356_10216519299398761_6834531451820572672_nI think I’m going to say this often during this post, but there really isn’t a reason I haven’t read this one yet. Many people have read One Small Thing and enjoyed it. I really nee to start making a few lists of things I need to read soon.

Final Girls – Riley Sager

38232095_10216519301758820_931757523818512384_nFinal Girls is going to be a book I add to my TBR this Halloween. I keep hearing so many things about this author. Lock Every Door was just released and sounds really interesting. Hopefully this book will help me decide if this author is one I want to continue to follow before buying that new book.

A Thousand Perfect Notes – C.G. Drews

I still love this cover and I’ve heard such amazing things. Yet again, another case of so many books, so little time! A Thousand Perfect Notes is supposed to be a pretty emotional read, so I’m going to have to prepare myself before reading this.

The Hating Game – Sally Thorne

38071874_10216519301478813_1258684769328168960_nAnother one that I still wonder why I haven’t picked it up yet. I see it daily walking by my bookcase, haha. This is a romance I’ve heard a lot about. People either love it or hate it! I think I’m going to love it, but have to just make time for it.

Midnight Sun – Trish Cook

38121337_10216519302878848_4769482283658772480_nI put this on my wishlist when I saw the trailer for the movie. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen the movie or read the book, haha. The cover isn’t one I’m a big fan of, but movie covers aren’t ones I normally enjoy!

More Than We Can Tell – Brigid Kemmerer

38207486_10216519302918849_3198773908417282048_nThis is another one I’m shocked I haven’t read yet. More Than We Can Tell is a companion novel to Letters to the Lost, so I need to read that one first. I recently read A Curse so Dark and Lonely and loved how this author wrote that one. Hopefully I love these just as much!

Read: 0/6 – 0%
TBR: 6/6 – 100%

July 2018 was a pretty decent bookhaul-month for me, I only acquired 7 new books. It’s a pretty decent amount, but did I also manage to read these books? Let’s take a look!

Final Girls – Riley Sager

I have been planning to read this book ever since I bought it. And what a gorgeous edition it is, isn’t it? This month there’s an adult readathon going on over at TBR & Beyond and this is the group book. So I really plan on reading it this month. Fingers crossed!

Afar – Leila Del Luca

I got this graphic novel at a sale and did finally read it not too long ago. Unfortunately it wasn’t really what I’d hoped it to be. It was still a decent and enjoyable read but I’m happy I didn’t pay full price for it.

Starfire vol. 1 – Amanda Conner

This was another sale graphic novel and another surprise. But this was a very pleasant surprise. It even made it to my favorite reads of last year. It was such a fun superhero comic and the second volume has been on my wishlist ever since.

Animal Noir – Izar Lunacek

I think this is a very underrated graphic novel. It was a very compelling read and while it’s pretty dark (it says so in the title haha) it was also a lot of fun. The concept was amazing and the execution was very well done. Definitely one I would recommend.

The Good Daughter & Pieces of You – Karin Slaughter

Karin Slaughter is one of my favorite authors and probably my favorite thriller author. She writes very twisted novels and I’ve read almost all of them. But while I did get her two newest novels last year, I have yet to read them! I’m very ashamed to admit that haha. And it’s also the reason I haven’t picked up her latest novel yet.

Heart of Thorns – Bree Barton

You might remember this one from my Try A Chapter Book Tag. So no, I haven’t read it yet. But I do want to and decided not to unhaul it. At least, not yet 😉

End Results:
Read: 3/7 – 43%
TBR: 4/7 – 57%

So this is how we did this month! Have you read any of these? What did you think of them? Let us know in the comments!
