We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Auto-buy Authors Part 2. For us it’s a part two, because Isabelle did this one last week, because she loved the topic. Let’s check out my list!
Jennifer L. Armentrout Ever since I’ve read LUX, I’ve been sold when it comes to this author’s books. I love the fact that she does a little bit of everything: YA, Romance, Contemporary, Paranormal, etc. I haven’t come across a lot of authors who can do that so well. My all time favorite will always be LUX!
Sarah J. Maas Of course, there has been a lot of hype around this author. Both of her series (Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses) have been very popular. I am definitely one of the fans (even if I haven’t finished Kingdom of Ash yet, oops!). Her next release is on top of my list and I can’t wait to see what she does.
V.E. Schwab I’ve actually only read a couple books by this author so far, but have been very impressed! The worlds and characters she creates are amazing and I will continue to read everything this author writes. I’m also very excited to say I get to meet her in October!!
Cassandra Clare The Shadowhunters world is one I was a bit late joining, but I’m happy I eventually did. The Infernal Devices will always be my favorite, but I love this world. She’s planning on adding some books to this world in the next few years that have me very happy!
Jay Kristoff I was a little late joining in with reading his books, but I’m mad at myself for taking so long. It started with The Illuminae Files and earlier this year I read Lifl1k3. As I’m writing this I’m just about halfway into Nevernight and am loving it. Jay Kristoff is an amazing writer and I love how he interacts with his fans.
Jennifer Lynn Barnes Isabelle actually introduced me to The Naturals series and I was hooked. As a big fan of Criminal Minds, this is the perfect YA series to. I haven’t read anything else by her yet, but the books are already on my shelf waiting to be read.
Brigid Kemmerer I have actually had Letters to the Lost on my shelf for quite some time, but haven’t read it yet. When her book A Curse so Dark and Lonely was being promoted, I knew it was a book I needed to read. I’m happy to say I wasn’t wrong about that. That book was amazing and I can’t wait to see what she does with a contemporary.
Cynthina Hand, Brodi Ashton & Jodi Meadows Okay, technically I just listed three authors at once. I have my reasons though. All three of these authors wrote My Lady Jane. This was my first historical fiction and it was so good. They have such a fun take on history and you wouldn’t know three authors worked on this book together. Anything these authors write together need to be on my shelf.
Leigh Bardugo At the beginning of this year I finally got around to read the Grishaverse trilogy and loved them. They weren’t my first books by this author though, because Six of Crows was already on my list of favorites. Leigh Bardugo knows how to write and I’m so curious about Ninth House that comes out later this year.
Laini Taylor Even though I’ve only read two books by this author and currently reading a third book, I know Laini Taylor will be an auto-buy author. She has a way of writing and worldbuilding that sucks you right in! The Daughter of Smoke & Bone Trilogy is definitely proof of that.
So these are ten of my auto-buy authors. I can tell you now that there are definitely more than ten. I’m going to cheat a bit and mention a few here: Kelsey Kingsley, Kelsie Stelting, Kayla Tirrell, Morgan G. Farris, Taylor Danae Colbert and so many more! Who are your auto-buy authors? Feel free to leave your links in the comments!
