We’re almost half way through the year already! Last month we both behaved extremely well in the book buying department. But what about May? Did we buy a lot of books or did we finally started to make a dent in our TBRs? Lets take a look at our May Bookhauls!
Candyce
After not adding any new books to my collection last month, I added three new ones this month. So I think I’ve been doing pretty good the last couple of months. I had a crazy reading month in May with book tours and such, so I hope to get to these in June!
Aurora Rising – Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman
I loved The Illuminae Files and both are such amazing writers. A few friends have read this book and loved it, so Aurora Rising was really high on my wishlist. I’m still not big fan of the cover, but the story is what counts!
The Lovely and the Lost – Jennifer Lynn Barnes
I am a big fan of this author and I love how she writes. The Naturals is one of my favorites series. I know she said that this book is different than her others, but I’m still really curious. The cover is gorgeous and the end pages have dog prints (which is so cute).
How to Make Friends with the Dark – Kathleen Glasgow
This author also wrote Girl in Pieces. I own that book, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. When I read about this title I was really curious. How to Make Friends with the Dark sounds like it’s going to be a heartbreaking story, but very much worth it!
Isabelle
I bought a couple more books compared to last month but I still behaved very well in my opinion. This month I added 2 hardcovers and 3 manga to my collection. And I’m very happy with every single purchase!
Finale – Stephanie Garber
While I wasn’t a huge fan of Caraval, I did get Legendary because I adored the special covers of the UK edition. I haven’t read Legendary yet, even though everyone seems to like it a lot better than Caraval. But I did have to get this edition of Finale, I would be so disappointed if they were unavailable by the time I finally get to Legendary. And hopefully that’s soon!
Escaping From Houdini – Kerri Maniscalco
To be honest, this title is the reason I kept on going with this series. I was disappointed by Stalking Jack the Ripper and was thinking of not continuing the series. But then came this title along, and I knew I had to read this book! So I read Hunting Prince Dracula and actually liked that one better than Stalking Jack the Ripper. So I have high hopes for this one and will be ready for the conclusion to the series this fall!
Yona of the Dawn – Mizuho Kusanagi
I had heard of this manga a couple of times but never seen it somewhere or even actually looked for it. Last week I wanted to order a couple of comics or manga and came across Yona of the Dawn. I quickly realized I really wanted to read this story so I got it for myself.
The Promised Neverland 4 – Kaiu Shirai
I love this series a lot and obviously had to get the next installment after that ending of the third volume!! So when I ordered some manga, this had to be one of them. I already read and enjoyed this was and can’t wait to pick up the next volume. On the one hand I love that I read them so fast, on the other had manga and especially comics are pretty expensive compared to how little reading time I get out of them. Nevertheless, I love reading them and hope to get the rest of this series soon!
Sailor Moon 2 – Naoko Takeuchi
And the last book, or manga actually, I got this month is Sailor Moon 2. I really enjoyed the first volume and was quite curious as to way everyone seems to love this series so much. So continuing with this series seemed like the easiest way to find out! For now, I think this is an enjoyable series but I’m not as obsessed with it as I could be. I’ll keep you all updated π
So these were the books we got this month. Have you read any? What did you think? Also, if you’ve added any book to your collection we need to know about, let us know in the comments!
I really need to read Jay Kristoff soon!
I want to read Aurora Rising!!
