Earlier this year I read and reviewed Stolen Moments, the first book in the Steele Family series. This week the second book, Moonlight Moments was released. Thanks to the author and Give Me Book Promotions for providing an ARC to read and review. My review is a little later than release day, because of a new hectic work schedule, but it’s finally here, so let’s take a look!

Kellen and Sloan must decide exactly what they’re willing to lose in order to
win each other.
I enjoyed Shay and Luke in Stolen Moments, but Kellen was definitely a character I wanted to know more about. He sacrifices a lot in the first story and has some other issues, so I was excited that we would learn more about him in Moonlight Moments. A few years have passed and Kellen is ready to start his life again.
Kellen still has a lot of secrets in this story, but I was really curious about him. There were definitely things that jumped out and hooked me from the start. I needed to know more. He’s still a bit arrogant, but is also realizing the consequences of him being away for awhile has done to the town and his family.
Sloan also has some things going and when she meets Kellen, it isn’t her greatest moment. Another character that took some time revealing things, but I really enjoyed her. Even though a lot has gone on in her life and definitely not all good, she’s still strong and independent. She isn’t the type to sit and feel bad for herself, but she fights back. Sloan is determined to make her life better and works hard to make that happen. It was nice seeing her let people in again and try and be happy!
Kellen and Sloan definitely have chemistry from the start, but for me the instant connection went too far, too fast. I’m not for the instant falling and love and sleeping together. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it’s just not my favorite thing to read about. Their relationship does develop and we get to know more about them getting to know each other. I just wish this started a little earlier on in the story.
It’s clear this author likes her characters to fight for their relationships and she’s good at it. There were a lot of factors against them being together, but they stayed strong. Sloan and Kellen had some sweet moments together, but also a lot of steamy ones. Kellen is definitely the macho in this relationship, but Sloan knew how to make it clear she could take care of herself. It was fun seeing that come to life.
Moonlight Moments was another fast and interesting read by this author, I just wish we got more details and information more in the beginning. It wasn’t until almost halfway through the book that I really started understanding the characters.

book, making digital scrapbooks and being physically active—whether it is at

Even though this wasn’t my favorite book, there were definitely still elements that I enjoyed! If you’re looking for a fast and interesting read, this series is a good one for that.
